ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers. Wellness and prevention programs for Ramsey county families. Referrals and coordination with other community-based services. Family Home Visiting: Dedicated to the well-being of pregnant women and families with young children, home visiting services help families raise healthy children who are ready to succeed in school and in life. Nurses offer information and support on a variety of topics and help individuals develop new parenting skills. There are a variety of home visiting programs available depending on the age of the child or parents. Individuals are encouraged to call to be assessed for the program that best fits their needs. Education and support topics may include: - Creating a safe home for the child - Finding healthcare, childcare, school/job options, and other resources in the community - Goal setting - Knowledge of growth and development - Preparation for birth - Promotion of the baby's health and well-being - Self-care during pregnancy Child and Teen Checkups Program: Checkups help children grow to their full potential. The C&TC program works with families and health professionals to make sure youth are getting their checkups. This program helps families: - Arrange transportation or an interpreter - Find a dental clinic - Find a medical clinic - Navigate health insurance and access benefits like gift cards and car seats - Schedule appointments - Understand what happens at a checkup like: lab tests, immunizations, lead screening, vision and hearing tests, dental referrals, development/behavior assessments, education on development stages, and more

The Child Support Division assists with: - Locating parents. - Establishing parentage. - Establishing and enforcing court orders for child support, medical support, and child care support. - Reviewing and modifying court orders for support. - Adjusting court orders based on the cost-of-living index. - Works with other states to enforce support when one parent does not live in Minnesota. - Collecting and processing payments. Minnesota Child Support Online: www.childsupport.dhs.state.mn.us/ Minnesota Child Support Online is an interactive web site developed by the State of Minnesota to provide child support participants with information about their case(s). NOTE: Either parent of a child may get certain child support services. Parents who do not receive public assistance can apply for services at their county child support office for a one-time $25 service fee. Parents who receive public assistance for a child whose other parent does not live with them are automatically referred for services and are not charged a service fee.

Designed to support all generations with services that focus on behaviors and their impact on overall wellbeing; programs provide mental, chemical and behavioral support, case management, and resources. The approach used is holistic and traditional, incorporating healing aspects such as ceremony and traditional practices. - Healing Generations: provides individual, family, and couples therapy for American Indian families. In addition to mental health services, case management services and therapeutic life coaching are also provided to clients. Some services include: - Short and long-term counseling for youth, adults, couples, and families - Healing circles on select topics - Mental health assessments - Community education and workshops on the importance of mental health - Family & Youth Trauma-Focused Groups: provides therapeutic groups focused on healing historical trauma and relationships in families and youth. Supports families to have healthy relationships and cope with stress in a positive way. Conducts groups for ages 7-11 years old and 12-18 years old that are facilitated by therapists. The groups focus on developing skills to manage trauma responses, healthy eating, physical exercise and study skills. - Wakanyeja Kin Wakan Pi (Our Children are Sacred): provides case management, parent education on infant safety and health, nutrition, prenatal education, home visits, connection to resources, and Mother's Circle support group for women who are pregnant or parenting children 13 months or younger. In addition to supportive services throughout and after pregnancy, limited chemical dependency supportive services are also available.

Provides foster care for children who experience an unsafe and/or unstable home environment, provides families with reunification services, and adoption services. Traditional Foster Care Youth with unique needs have a safe place to live in a family setting. Emergency Foster Care 24/7 emergency short term foster care for kids needing immediate placement in a safe and nurturing environment typically due to situations of abuse, neglect, or unsafe living conditions. Short Term Foster Care Provides foster families a period of planned relief (30 days or less) with licensed providers to fill in as needed. Whole Family Foster Care Provides intensive support and collaborative services to parents who are at-risk of losing their children. Supervised Visitation Provides opportunities for foster kids to spend time with their families and/or receive therapeutic support in a supervised setting. These visits can take place in the Nexus-Kindred offices, in the family's home, or in other community settings. Foster Youth Support Provides an individualized care plan for each youth and matches each child with the foster home that fits them best. Provides special medical care for youth with complex conditions who might otherwise require hospitalization or institutional care. Provides support services to youth ages 14 and older who are transitioning out of foster care and into independent living. Foster Parent Support Provides ongoing training, 24/7 crisis support, and respite care for foster parents. Adoption Services As a licensed adoption agency, works to help bring kids and parents together in permanent family settings. Our services are provided free of charge and include: - Home studies for adoptive parents/relatives - Parent training and education - Child-specific parent recruitment - Child placement services - Relative outreach services Seven locations in Minnesota

Minnesota's version of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). Statewide MFIP helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. Statewide MFIP has a 60-month limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions to the time limit. Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet work rules will result in their MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced. In addition: - Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent - A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy - Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistance NOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance, and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
