Provides a system of services to adults and juveniles. Services include: - Adult Supervision Programs: Provides several different types of supervision programs for adults ranging from enhanced supervision programs, intensive, low-level, pre-trial, sex offender supervision, supervised release, traditional supervision placed on probation, and transfer of probation supervision - Adult and Juvenile Community Service Work (CSW): Court-ordered volunteer work with local non-profits, community-based or government organizations - Adult and Juvenile Electronic Monitoring: Services are provided under a contractual arrangement with Midwest Monitoring and Surveillance. The program is intended to offer the court an alternative between traditional probation and jail for adults or placement of juveniles in residential or custodial settings.

Offers outpatient group and individual therapy and psychological assessment for male and female sexual offenders, incest offenders and families, and sexual abuse victims. Therapy is also available via Teletherapy. Specific programming includes: - Phase Program: Outpatient, family-centered program for the assessment and treatment of adolescent males and females who have behaved in sexually inappropriate or victimizing ways - Psycho-educational Classes: Time-limited classes for offenders who severely deny or minimize their offenses or who need information on appropriate sexual behavior - Supervised Visitation: Between parents and children who are not allowed unsupervised contact by order of the court. Specifically designed for sex offenders, but will provide service to others in need of supervised visitation. - Victim/Survivors of Sexual Abuse: Individual therapy sessions are available by appointment to explore the impact that sexual abuse has had on the lives of those who have been victimized. All types of sexual abuse will be addressed including past and present abuse from both within and outside of the hom. - Specialized treatment groups for elderly sex offenders, young adult offenders, noncontact offenders, non coercive "statutory rape" offenders, Spanish speaking offenders, and child pornography (typically internet) offenders - Outpatient support/therapy group for spouses or partners of sex offenders - Support and aftercare groups for offenders involved in sexual abuse or aberrant sexual behavior

Adult parenting education is a strength-based program designed to assist families in using the resources available to them to improve their parenting skills, develop connections to the community, and create a safe, nurturing environment for their family. The parent coaching component is designed to: - Enhance parent-child relationships - Improve parenting skills - Decrease problematic behaviors observed in the child - Reduce risk for child abuse During parent coaching, the parent and child have an opportunity to interact. Parents are given written and verbal feedback including strengths and areas for improvement.

A safe place where counselors, therapists, and doctors create a therapeutic living environment to help students who reside in this setting gain the skills they need to succeed in their home, community, and school. Residential care and treatment for boys and girls ages 10-17 in a non-secure setting. There are 20 beds in the Cottage. Youth are referred to the Cottage by County Social Workers, County Probation Officers, Tribal Social Workers, Parents, self-referrals, or the courts. On-site educational programming is provided by Independent School District 318. Each student will earn credit for school attendance during placement at the North Homes Cottage. The following areas are addressed in each resident's plan: - Social/Interpersonal Skills - Emotional Control - Vocational Skills - Independent Living Skills - DBT and skills Students in the Residential Program participate in various program activities and receive services including, but not limited to: - Daily therapeutic/psycho-educational group discussions covering such topics as communication skills, emotions, anger management, gender issues, CD information, stress management, depression and conflict resolution - Individual counseling - Psychiatric evaluation and monitoring - Structured daily recreational/leisure activities - Structured daily schedule addressing daily living skill development - Cultural education, activities and advocacy - Community professional mental health services - On site school programming - Coordination with community resources and agencies - On site health screening and care - Spirituality services Treatment will have individual goals for everyone to complete. The following case types are processed and tried in the District Court: ?- Civil court: Includes cases, among others, such as lawsuits involving personal injury, property damage, malpractice, employment issues, wrongful death, implied consents, and Tax Court - Conciliation Court: Small Claims Court; claim amounts are limited to $7500 - Criminal: Includes processing of complaints for violations of law from minor to major offenses including petty misdemeanor, misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, and felony offenses, and traffic and parking violations - Family: Includes dissolution, custody, support, paternity, domestic abuse, and adoption cases - Juvenile: Cases involving minors under the age of 18 who are involved in delinquency, termination of parental rights, truancy, status offenses, runaway, and children in need of protection, and some traffic offenses - Probate: Supervised and unsupervised probating of estates of decedents, guardianships of minors and adults, conservatorships, and commitments for mental illness or chemical dependency

The Secure unit is a twelve bed detention center. - Provides correctional services to sentenced adult offenders that include education, violence prevention, chemical dependency, legal services through LAMP (Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners) and other individual services - Provides work release for eligible offenders who are allowed daily releases for work/study purposes; eligible inmates may also participate in a home monitoring program
- Diversion Program Monitoring for Adults: Low-level felony offenders with little or no prior criminal record may be court-ordered into the Diversion Program. Diversion allows certain property and drug offenders to avoid a felony conviction if they complete a probationary period with specific conditions. Offenders may be required to pay restitution to their victims, complete community work service, and undergo chemical dependency treatment. ?- Diversion Program Monitoring for Juveniles: Low-level juvenile offenders with little or no prior criminal record may be offered diversion as an alternative option to appearing in court. Youth in the Diversion Program will not have to appear in front of a judge, have a court record or be placed on probation. The North Homes Cottage offers a comprehensive 35 Day Evaluation to provide referral sources, children, and their families' appropriate recommendations to meet the client's needs. The Assessment Unit is staffed with trained youth counselors and Mental Health Practitioners who interact daily with clients and provide behavioral observations. The client will remain in the Assessment Unit for 35 days and participate in educational programming through independent School District 318, recreational, leisure, cultural, and spiritual activities, therapeutic groups, art therapy, medication education, eligibility for becoming a positive peer, visitation with family, etc. - 24-hour behavior observation and documentation by trained staff, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers. A comprehensive assessment, which identifies child and family issues, and historical information is conducted. The assessment team then recommends ongoing services that will best meet the present and future needs of the child and their family. The North Homes Cottage Assessment Program consists of components including: - Behavioral Assessments - Psychiatric Evaluation - Culture Assessment - Recreational Assessment - Academic Assessment - Family Assessment - Family History - Health Screening/Physical Examination - Substance Use Assessments The evaluations will be completed in 35 days, after which an assessment staffing will be held with members of the Treatment Team to discuss findings and recommendations. Includes: - Individual and group counseling - Assistance in development of living skills - Training in seeking, obtaining and keeping jobs - Preparation for GED tests - Assistance with financial planning, budgeting and restitution - Referrals to community resources - Assistance in furthering academic and vocational education - Recreation programming - On-site substance testing
