If the victim wishes to make a report to law enforcement, the counselor will remain to provide support. If upon arriving at the hospital the sexual assault advocate is told that the victim does not wish to have an advocate, a packet of written information will be left for the victim and the advocate will leave. Advocates provide support to family and friends of victims in the hospital.

Crisis calls are fielded 24-hours. If a survivor contacts a program without available bed space, advocates can connect them to another program that may be able to accommodate them and their family.
Advocates work to connect survivors with programs that meet their needs based on primary language, culture, geographic location, and other categories of service.
