A confidential phone line is staffed by a Mental Health Navigator specifically trained to guide individuals to mental health resources. The Mental Health Navigator listens to an individual's story. Then, basic background information like age, location, and insurance information (if any) is gathered to help narrow down service options. From there, the Mental Health Navigator searches local resources to help determine treatment options and community service providers to meet the individual's needs. Resources include therapists, clinics, detox programs, peer support, and other opportunities within Central Minnesota Mental Health Center's programs and in the community.

Services include: - Comprehensive diagnostic assessment - Psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) - In-home psychotherapy - Educational training and workshops on geriatric mental health issues

Aging Mastery Program (AMP): Through the National Council on Aging; 8 weeks in study;each week is a different topic (financial, physical, mental health, etc.);review books and video materials in-person; aims to help older adults take key steps to improve their wellbeing, add stability to their lives, and strengthen their ties to communities; professionals visit as speakers to assist with sessions. Dementia Friends-sessions: Provides to community members of all ages. Healthcare specific educational session is available, as well as adaptations for particular workplaces, known as Dementia Friendly in the Workplace. These are one-day sessions that last from 60-80 minutes. Educational session available to community members who have attended a Dementia Friends session, to become Dementia Champions, so that they too, can provide Dementia Friends sessions. This is a one-day session. Powerful Tools for Caregiving (PTC): Educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or a friend. Focus is on those caring for someone who is 55 years or older. Six weeks of 1.5 hour workshops. Offered both virtually, and in-person, depending upon the time of registration. Call to register for this workshop. Caregiver Training Workshop: This workshop is approximately 2 hours long. Must pre-register and the workshop is provided in-person. The training walks through a workbook that allows the participant (caregiver) to develop a plan of how to care for their care receiver if something should happen to them and they are no longer able to care for that older adult-either temporarily or definitively. Fraud and Scam Prevention Trainings: Provides presentations relating to fraud and scam prevention to the communities of service-upon request. ?Programs are provided at a variety of locations, including Elder Network offices and others. Improves health outcomes by coordination of care between physical and mental health care and other service providers for individuals who are not receiving case management services

Information, resources, and referral office to help people through difficult times. Staff provide an immediate assessment of emergency needs and offer resources to help deal with homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic abuse, unemployment, gambling addictions, mental health problems, and help with public assistance. Additional services offered at the center include: - 7 bus passes for the general public daily; usually gone by 9:10 am. Can be accessed twice per month and an intake form must be filled out. - Free telephone line, mailboxes for people who are homeless, hygiene items, and household goods - Safe Bay is located in the parking lot and offers individuals and families living in cars and vans a place to rest without fear of crime, harassment, or being moved along by law enforcement or private security guards. Individuals and families can access showers, breakfast and housing navigation services provided by Daminao Center. - Work related transportation: - Gas vouchers: MUST have valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and proof of employment. Can only be accessed once per year. - Bus pass: MUST have ID and proof of employment. The value of a bus pass is $25 and can only be accessed once per year.

Also, refers to the Housing Resource Line for shelter resources and housing information. - Crisis intervention for mental health crises by phone and face-to-face including psychiatric crisis intervention, outreach services, short-term crisis counseling, emergency psychiatric hospitalization, after-hours adult protection, child endangerment reporting, and after-hours child protection reporting - Diversion from out-of-home placement - Mental health crisis assessment is completed within 90 days or less to find out what option is available to the individual. One option might include case management, as choices may vary depending on the assessment. - Public speaking regarding mental health crisis - Parent-child conflict resolution
