Hennepin County provides two grant programs that improve the livability for homeowners and a low or no interest loan program for home repairs and maintenance: Accessibility Ramps: Offers grants of up to $10,000 for installation of home accessibility ramps or low-rise steps that enable persons with a disability or mobility challenges to continue leading independent lives in the homes. Lead-Based Paint Program: Offers grants of up to $10,000 for the detection and removal of lead-based paint in owner-occupied or rental housing built before 1978 Note: Grants provided for up to $15,000 for detection and removal of lead-based paint in owner-occupied or rental housing built before 1978

Requests are generally limited to 1 request per household every 2 years, unless the request is for an emergency beyond the household's control.
