Emergency Housing Services - Tri-Valley Opportunity Council

Provides short-term help for low-income households who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Direct financial assistance may include foreclosure payments, rent payments, rent subsidies, security deposits, first month's rent, utility payments, or other assistance to prevent eviction. Minimal assistance is also available for food, child care, transportation, and work clothing and supplies. The purpose of these programs is to stabilize families in their home or re-house families that are homeless.

- Emergency services available in the form of goods, clothing, food, shelter, etc. in the cases of natural disaster, fire, flooding, etc - The purpose of Salvation Army is to provide moral and spiritual support, material goods, food, shelter and transportation for those unable to provide for themselves - Every situation is reviewed individually Conditions of Service: - Will maintain anonymity and confidentiality - Will require name, address and Social Security numbers in order to provide any services - If a person doesn't have a Social Security card, a driver's license may be acceptable

Minneapolis NE Central Social Service Office - Salvation Army Twin Cities Social Services

Pathway of Hope: Designated case management for families with children. Food Shelf: Available once per calendar month. Walk-in during open hours. Culturally-specific food is often available. Hygiene: Hygiene kits are typically available. Showers are available for people who are unhoused during specific hours. Transportation: Must be able to verify that the client has a permanent job for which they have not received their first paycheck or a medical appointment. Clients should bring a letter (on company letterhead) stating when they started working and when they will get their first paycheck. Transportation is limited to once a year. Case-by-case exceptions may be made depending on the transportation need. HeatShare: Serves NE and SE Minneapolis. Employment services: job leads, resume assistance, job search techniques instruction Seasonal services: Family Camp, coats for kids, holiday programs for Easter and Thanksgiving, and emergency disaster services. Referrals to rental assistance (funding is limited), car repair services, and budget counseling.

Provides support to individuals who are currently using substances or in recovery from substance use. Services include connections to: - Free Fentanyl Testing Strips and Naloxone kits available at all locations - Free training on how to use Fentanyl Testing Strips, Naloxone, and information about overdose prevention - Funding for emergencies and transportation. Brooklyn Park Social Service Office - Salvation Army Twin Cities Social Services

Vouchers for clothing (single adults only), bedding and kitchen items. Household: Furniture is not free. Vouchers are given to assist clients in the purchase of furniture at a discount price at the Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Clients must verify they have recently left a shelter, or that they have a new living situation or other crisis situation through a case worker, pastor, school social worker, landlord, etc. Vouchers are capped at $100 per family and can not be used for beds. Transportation: Clients can qualify for tokens or a bus card in one of two ways. The caseworker must be able to verify by telephone that the client has a permanent job for which they have not received their first paycheck or a permanent job interview or has a medical appointment. Hygiene: Items such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste are available. Clients are eligible once every two months. Winona Volunteer Services offers vouchers to meet transportation needs for people who are struggling. Before a voucher is given an in-depth conversation will take place between the individual and staff to determine individual's circumstances. Vouchers may be issued for: - Bicycles for individuals without transportation who are either looking for work through an employment agency or are currently employed and agree to forego all future requests for bus passes, gas, etc - Bus passes (city) for work, school, or seeking employment - Bus or train tickets for individuals or families needing a one-way ticket in verified emergency situations (for after-hours transportation emergencies contact Law Enforcement Dispatch Center) - Gas for valid and insured driver working with an employment agency to job search or experiencing unexpected circumstance such as reduced work hours - Taxi cabs vouchers may be used in urgent circumstances

Program designed to meet the specific educational and employment needs of youth. Services include: - Education: Assists with obtaining a social security card, birth certificate, and/or state ID, application assistance for food stamps, Medical Assistance, or financial aid, advocating at school, connecting with GED tutors, and preparing for college applications. Financial assistance for obtaining vital documents is available. - Employment: Assists all youth with online job searches, applications, resumes, and practice interviewing. Providing work appropriate clothing, transportation in the form of bus passes and bus tokens to get to and from work and for interviews and Lyft/Uber for a job interview, and referrals to partner organizations to find other employment resources. Transportation - Reach for Resources

Offers a variety of safe, accessible, and reliable transportation for individuals living with disabilities who live in Minnesota. Transportation programs include: - Reach in Motion: Enables individuals to use county waiver or county funds to cover Lyft rides through a Lyft Pass arranged by Reach's Transportation Manager. Lyft rides do not have geographic limitations and out-of-pocket costs. - Trail by Reach: Provides transportation for adults with developmental disabilities living in Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Golden Valley, Saint Louis Park, and Richfield. Transportation rides are for recreation, leisure, and educational programs, if a program is hosted in one of the designated cities.

Emergency food shelf for persons living in area. Clients will be asked to provide name, address, telephone number, the number of adults and the number of children to be served and if there are any infants. Clients should call the day on which food is to be picked up. Clients will need proof of address and identification for all members of the household. Usage is limited to once every 30 days. Senior Food Shelf: Usage is limited to seniors and may be used once a month by appointment only. Free home delivery. Free hot lunch provided Monday - Thursday to community members Hygiene: Shampoo, razors, shaving cream, soap and lotion are given to clients once every two months.
