The principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - National security investigations - Enforcement and removal operations - Inspection of people entering the U.S. - Verification of employment authorization of immigrants Volunteer lawyers are available to review cases during the initial master calendar hearing for removal. The volunteers are simply there at all initial master calendar days. Family members can call the Immigration Court Hotline to find out the date of the hearing; they can attend the hearing if they want. They will need to enter the Alien Number (or A#) of the detainee. The detainee should have the number and can give it to their friends/family. The Community Helpline can address questions/concerns related to: - Community outreach inquiries and requests - Prosecutorial discretion requests - Detention concerns - Information about enforcement activities - Other concerns regularly raised by the public
