- Fred Lawshe Park 3rd Avenue and 2nd Street North - Grandview Park 350 Grand Avenue West features a playground - Harmon Park 1310 Henry Avenue serves as the home of girls fast pitch softball. In addition the park provides the neighborhood with a playground, tennis courts, hockey rink, and open areas for recreation and picnics. - Jefferson Park 125 21st Avenue North features a playground, softball/baseball field, hockey rink, and a sledding hill during the winter season - Kaposia Landing 800 Bryant Avenue features South Saint Paul's off-leash dog park - Kaposia Park 1028 Wilde Avenue features a picnic shelter (available for rent), horseshoe pits, sand volleyball, playground, tennis courts, and disc golf course - Lorraine Park 756 3rd Avenue South features an outdoor pool area. In addition, other amenities include a picnic shelter (available for rent), skating rink with warming house, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball, and a play structure. - McMorrow Fields 200 South Street East serves as the primary softball and soccer complex for the park system. The facility has four softball fields (two with lights) and four soccer fields. Group Exercise Classes: Members can attend a variety of free fitness classes, including cardio and strength, dance, strength, yoga and pilates, ForeverWell, Kids and Family, and water exercise. Note: Not all classes are offered at all locations. Personal Training and Assessments: Rates for members and non-members. Members can receive a free one-on-one 60-minute assessment session with a certified personal trainer. Personal training sessions are available virtually via Zoom (included in membership or a monthly fee). Small Group Training Programs: - Provides opportunities for small group training and flex training. Available classes vary by location. Rates for members and non-members. - Wellness 180 provides a series of lessons that will help educate participants in and out of a classroom setting on how gradual lifestyle changes can positively impact their health. Rates for members and non-members. - Wellbeats is for kids ages 3 to 14 who are participants of Kids Stuff or child care (must be a member). Kids Stuff provides free drop-off child care while parents/caregivers work out (must be a member). Elder Care: Provides specific programs and services to support older adults age 55 and older, including in-person activities and free classes. - ForeverWell: Provides members with wellness activities for older adults age 55 and older including virtually online or in-person options. Must be a member for the virtual online activities. Also provides wellness checks for senior ForeverWell members. The George Wellbeing programs offer guidance, virtually or one-on-one in a group setting, with a board-certified coach, to help participants navigate healthy choices. Adult Sports Leagues: Provides team, doubles, and individuals sport activities. Opportunities for members and non-members. Kids Sports: Provides year-round activities and program for kids of all ages and skill levels, including youth sports leagues and classes, summer sports, Homeschool Physical Education, and adult sports leagues. Members and non-members are welcome to participate. Offers youth with disabilities age 8 and up opportunities to participate in the Blazing Stars Special Olympics Team. The Young Athletes program introduces children ages 2 to 7 with and without intellectual disabilities to the world of sports. Orthology: Provides physical therapy and chiropractic services Kids and Families: Provides exercises classes, adventure racing, free child care while members work out, Parents Night Out provides child care for an evening out, family friendly fitness centers, and youth and family fitness cards that outlines an entire workout from warm-ups to cool down stretches. Journey to Freedom: Provides an 8 week session where participants meet in small-group discussions, read, reflect, find support, and heal. The goal of the program is to build community and support successful life change in a safe place. Specialty series include Freedom from Body Image and Food Issues, Freedom from Low Self-Esteem, Freedom from the Pain of Grief and Disappointment, and Freedom from Fear. Condition Specific Programs: Include tailored health and fitness programs for people with health conditions including Parkinson's disease and pre-diabetes. Water Safety Program: Provides reduced cost water safety instruction for kids ages 5 - 14 and swimming lessons for ages 6 months to adult. Offers parent and child, school-age children, preschool children, and teen and adult swimming lessons and water safety instruction. Member and non-member rates available. Provides trainings and certifications for lifeguard training, CPR and first aid, babysitting safety, safety training for coaches and instructor level training. Classes are offered in a traditional classroom and blended where lessons are online and skills are practiced in class.

Parks Department - Nobles County Public Works Office

Provides a variety of recreational experiences for public enjoyment. The seven parks within the system are located throughout the county. Provides an appropriate level of maintenance service for each park's intended use. It also is responsible for the management of the park resources, collection of permit and camping fees, reserving camping facilities, and enforcement of park rules. - Fury's Island County Park: Provides camping, natural areas, lake access, showers, and a large picnic shelter for gatherings, and reunions. - Hawkeye County Park: Located on Indian Lake. It provides for lake access and a natural habitat setting. - Maka-Oicu County Park: Provides for camping, lake access, natural areas, swimming beach, picnic areas, historic site, and general park activities. The park has onsite showers and a large picnic shelter for reunions and gatherings. - Midway County Park: Located on an old gravel pit and provides for a natural habitat setting. The park consists of 45 undeveloped acres. - Pickerel County Park: Consists of 4 developed acres. - Sportsman County Park: Provides for lake access, and consists of 1 developed acre and 6 undeveloped acres. - Sunrise Prairie County Park: A historic pioneer cemetery and an original prairie grass area. The park consists of 22 undeveloped acres.

Fitness Facilities - Shoreview Parks and Recreation

Fitness Facilities: include six stair climbers, four treadmills, and three upright bikes Recreation Programs: provides year-round activities, programs, and events for all ages, interests, and abilities. Programs provide opportunities to learn life skills, stay fit and active, and to connect with the community. Specific programs include preschool, swim lessons, fitness classes,etc. Visit website for a complete list of programs. Senior Activities: programming geared for seniors such as day trips, movies, speakers, holiday parties, defensive driving classes, cards, and exercise programs. Tropical Adventure Indoor Playground: a multi-level tropical-themed indoor playground for children under 12. Includes swings, waterfall slide, spiral slide, and a jungle. Tropics Indoor Water Park: water park features Shipwreck Beach, an area for small children, an animal-themed water walk, splashing palm tree, giant floating sea creatures, etc. A swimming pool is available for adults including lap hours; whirlpool and patio for adults only.
