Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Services - Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Health Care System

Provides a range of services to support and treat Veterans experiencing challenges with mental health and substance use addictions. Mental health services are available at the VA Hospital and community clinics, and include: - Assessments and treatment - Individual therapy - Group classes and therapies - Case management - Home visits - Medication consultations - Rehabilitation programming - Intensive outpatient program - Inpatient hospitalization Issues and concerns that are addressed, include: - Psychological and sexual trauma - Depression and anxiety - Addiction recovery services - Mental health issues specific to older adults - Bipolar and psychotic disorders - Sleep disorders - Couples and family problems - Therapeutic and supported employment services - Pain management Addiction Recovery Services provides comprehensive, individualized assessment, and treatment to Veterans with a variety of substance use problems. Care is provided on an outpatient basis; referral to VA-based residential treatment is also available. Services include: - Specialty Substance Use Disorder group programming: Abstinence-based outpatient substance use disorder group on Saturdays - Intensive Outpatient Program: Outpatient management for Veterans with dual disorders - substance use with co-occurring mental health programs - Pharmacotherapy for the treatment of substance use disorders/opiate treatment program - Relapse prevention - Individualized outpatient care

Substance Abuse Treatment - Mid Range Chemical Dependency Services

- Alcohol and Drug Education: Provides education through lectures, videos, and discussions to assist individuals in meeting required hours - Chemical Dependency Assessment: Offers assessments on-site or off-site, including locations such as jails, hospitals, or clinics - Chemical Dependency Treatment: Includes intensive outpatient treatment (Phase 1), outpatient treatment (Phase 2), and 24-48 hour relapse prevention treatment - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Groups/Individuals: Provides CBT classes and individual education - DWI Clinics: Assists individuals in meeting DWI class requirements through videos and lectures - Public Speaking: Delivers education and awareness presentations tailored to the audience - Workplace Trainings: Conducts trainings on the effects of alcohol and drug use in the workplace.

Family Program - Retreat, The

Provides participants with a better understanding of addiction, family dynamics, and the process of recovery embodied in the Twelve Steps of Al-Anon. Participants have the option to attend in person or virtually online. Family members negatively impacted begin the healing process and encourage family members and loved ones to explore how their lives have been personally affected by the disease. Provides an additional kids program with camps and special events.

Provides a central intake assessment and inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment with services including group counseling, individual counseling, nutrition support, peer support and other support services. Programs include: - Community outpatient: Provides ongoing services to continue treatment while individuals live and work independently - Inpatient withdrawal management: Clients are supported by 24/7 Nurses and Trained Medication Aids to move through withdrawal safely and comfortably - Intensive residential treatment - Outpatient with lodging: Provides a structured setting by living with others in recovery while accessing intensive outpatient services. Offers ways to move towards independence while maintaining ample support.
