TakeAction Minnesota is engaged in a number of projects and programs, working in coalition with partners to build racial, social and economic justice in Minnesota. Current projects include:
- Criminal Justice Reform: Efforts to change the criminal justice system to one which is focused on rehabilitation, civic engagement, and reintegration
- Democracy and Voting Rights: Efforts to end voting restrictions for Minnesotans on probation or parole
- Elections: Efforts to advance progressive values in politics
- Health: Efforts toward a people-focused healthcare system
- Work and Wealth: Efforts toward fair wages and tax reform

- Creates a legislative agenda each year before the opening of the Minnesota Legislature; does not have an attorney on staff and does not provide individuals with advocacy support or legal advice
- Informs and mobilizes social justice advocates to shape public policy for the common good in Minnesota through: email alerts in response to legislative action, Issue Papers published, and annual Day on the Hill lobby day at the Capitol in St. Paul
- Leads forums, workshops and provides speakers on a variety of topics (i.e., poverty, health care, housing, children's issues, criminal justice, environmental stewardship, tax policy, etc.)
