Children's mental health residential treatment is a 24-hour-a-day program under the clinical supervision of a mental health professional, in a community setting, other than an acute care hospital or regional treatment center inpatient unit. This benefit is available for all eligible children placed in residential treatment by counties for whom the service is medically necessary.

The YMCA End Zone program offers a fun, safe place for school age children to relax and bond with friends. Our program is for children in Kindergarten through age 13. Children participate in a variety of activities supervised by specially-trained staff. We offer homework time,swimming, outdoor play, art, games, fun, snacks and more. The End Zone program follows the ISD 318 school schedule and offers programming before & after-school, and no school days. We participate in USDA/CACFP. The USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer. Before-School Care (6am - bus pickup) After-School Care (bus dropoff - 6pm) All Day Care - Snow days, no school days (6am-6pm)

The Secure unit is a twelve bed detention center. Youth must be at least 10 years old and not older than 19 years of age unless they have remained under the courts' extended juvenile jurisdiction. - Programming is available for males and females. - Encouraged to attend school provided by ISD 318 as well as recreational activities. - Access to chemical health education and mental health services. - Consequence Based Programming - Flexible - Short or long term - Daily use of behavioral rating scales - Availability of urine analysis - Cognitive behavioral groups and individual work

The Itaskin Center & Cottage 35-Day Assessment Program is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). This assessment program serves residents between the ages of 10-17 years old. Upon completion of the 35-Day Assessment Program, a Comprehensive Assessment is provided to the youth's guardian and/or treatment team. The Comprehensive Assessment aims to identify child and familial strengths, resiliencies, and opportunities for growth via a multifaceted approach, while also providing diagnoses, recommendations, and a prognosis for recovery. This multifaceted approach involves a behavioral assessment, comprehensive assessment, wellness/recreation assessment, academic assessment, health screening/physical examination. Additional assessments, as requested by individual teams, include a psychiatric assessment and/or chemical use assessment. Upon completion of the program, the assessment team will also recommend a level of care believed to most accurately represent the current needs of the youth and how best to be supported. Opportunities for individual therapy and improving coping skills are provided throughout the 35-day assessment period.

Providing the following services for Children and teens under 21 years old on Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare: - Assistance with appointments, transportation, interpreters, and other services necessary to access healthcare ?- Education to families about comprehensive screening at regular age intervals through reminder letters and phone contacts. - Periodic health and dental screenings and follow-up through their healthcare provider ??- Providing community outreach, technical assistance, and training to medical providers

Certifications: QRTP (Qualified Residential Treatment Program) The Itaskin Treatment Center & Cottage Residential Treatment programs provide trauma-informed care in a safe, therapeutic living environment for children diagnosed with a Serious Emotional Disability. The program is adaptive to meet the individual needs of each youth, based on their trauma and mental health screens at admission. Program components include but are not limited to: family integration and support, daily therapeutic groups, cultural education and activities, on-site education, and health screenings and interventions.

Periodic health checkups for children ages birth - 20 who are enrolled in Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare Assistance in finding medical/dental providers, interpreters, and transportation for those same families - Medical - Dental referral, phone follow-up

Provides 40 hour per week summer work program for area youth (approximately 2 weeks the end of June).

Safe Harbor Programming for youth ages 17-24 who have been victims of sexual exploitation. Crime Victim Services: Advocacy and support and services for youth ages 9-24 who have been victims of a crime. Youth-At-Work: Assistance to low income youth ages 14-24 who are needing support and assistance finding jobs, completing applications developing a resume, interviewing skills, etc.
