Anoka/Washington County Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood development program. Program options: - Early Head Start Child Care Partnership classrooms are for children ages 6 weeks - 36 months in center-based partner locations and ages 6 months - 48 months at family child care partner locations. Hours depend on the needs of families. - Home Based programming is available for pregnant individuals and children ages birth - 5 years old. Head Start teachers make weekly visits with the family bringing learning experiences and developmental activities. Center socialization days occur twice a month that provide socialization for children, and parent education opportunities and peer support for parents. - Center Based Part Day Part Year is for children ages 3 - 5 years old who attend Monday - Thursday 6 hours per day between September - May - Center Based Full Day Full Year is for children ages 3 - 5 years old who attend Monday - Thursday 6 hours per day between September - August All enrolled families are assigned a Family Service Worker to assist them in family goal setting and to provide resources to help the family meet their goal and become self-sufficient.

Minnesota's version of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. While MFIP has a 60-month time limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions. Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet these requirements will result in MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced. In addition: - A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy - Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent - Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistance NOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Child Care Assistance, Emergency Assistance, Medical Assistance, and/or Food Support.

The refugee resettlement program coordinates services to assist refugees in making the transition to life in the United States. These services include resettlement and placement, cash and medical assistance, and employment and social services. NOTE: Able-bodied RCA recipients are required to participate in an employment and training program. RCA recipients who are disabled or 65 years of age or older are required to apply for SSI.

Eight day camp locations around the metro area: Lakeville, Lino Lakes, Long Lake, Loretto, Monticello, Mound, Rochester, and Rosemount, Minnesota and Hudson, Wisconsin - Overnight Ages 7-17: Campers get a well-rounded experience with activities like horseback riding, swimming, ropes, kayaking, and camp fires. 3 - 26 day and single gender sessions are available. Four overnight camp locations in Eveleth and Loretto, MN and Amery and Hudson, WI - Teen Wilderness Ages 11-18: Campers start in base camp then head out on canoeing, backpacking and rock climbing trips. Sessions range from 5 days to 1 month or more. Two locations Grand Marais and Ely, Minnesota. - Family Camp All Ages: Families get away and come together through opportunities for growth, spiritual development and environmental awareness. YMCA Camp du Nord is located on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Camp Northern Lights on the edge of the Superior National Forest. - Outdoor learning programs that can be tailored to group size, program lengths, and curriculum. Also provides learning opportunities delivered through special events. Financial assistance and/or scholarships available

Emergency Assistance is a cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing a limited-time household emergency. Families can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Applicant must have spent 50% of net income over the past 60 days on basic needs. Families must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. Emergency assistance provides short-term, one-time assistance for households in a financial crisis because of an eviction, utility disconnection, or other eligible emergency. Types of assistance: - Shelter, including rent and/or damage deposits or mortgage payments - Utility costs when an otherwise eligible family unit has had a termination or is threatened with termination of municipal water and sewer services, electric, gas, or other heating fuel, including lack of wood when it is the heating source, or refuse removal services. - Employment-related expenses, including but not limited to car expenses and child care expenses if the Emergency Assistance payment would enable the family member to continue working or continue to search for employment

Collaborative convenes interagency dialogue and integration of services related to these outcome areas: Academic success, basic needs, community support, and safe and stable living environment. Also provides training and support for service coordination and facilitates access to flexible funding by trained service coordinators. - Service coordination provided by coordinators employed by collaborative's partner agencies. Partner agencies include Scott County Health & Human Services, CDA, CAP Agency, Scott County Community Corrections, Shakopee Schools, Prior Lake/Savage Schools, Jordan Schools, Belle Plaine Schools, and New Prague Schools.
