MFIP helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. There is a 60-month time limit with some limited exceptions. Participants are required to follow certain work rules and failure to meet work rules will result in their MFIP grant being sanctioned or reduced. In addition, child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent. A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy. Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistance. MFIP recipients may also be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance and/or Food Support.
- WIC is a program that provides nutrition education and special foods to: - Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have recently had a baby - Infants, newborn to 1 year - Children, age 1 - 5 years - Through WIC, mothers can obtain: - Assistance in finding regular health care from private doctors or other health agencies - Vouchers good for the purchase of specific foods at the grocery store to supplement the diet of mother and children

Cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing household emergencies. Families can receive assistance once every 18 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Families must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. Short-term grant assistance for persons in a financial crisis including evictions, foreclosures, or utility shut-offs (electric, gas, heating fuel, water service payment assistance). Applicants must show they have spent a certain percentage of their income from the last 60 days on basic needs in order to qualify.

Services include: - Birth - 11 living together with their mothers for a period of six months or more while their mother receives treatment and supportive services. Children receive early intervention services to help support healthy development. - 24-hour supervised environment, family counseling and parent coaching provides the supports needed for women with open child protection cases to build a strong family and regain (or retain) permanent custody of their children after successful treatment.

Village of Hope provides safe, secure emergency housing for families 24 hours/day ~ 7 days a week. We are open 365 days a year. The environment that a family experiencing homeless comes into is very important. We work to create a calm, safe environment in which families can build a future. Families can stay with us for 90 days, as long as they are actively looking for housing. Each family has their own apartment.
