Community-based program that works with troubled youth and youth offenders. The program includes a variety of interventions and all include the young person taking responsibility for his/her actions and understanding of their behavior. This program works in conjunction with schools, law enforcement, and counties. Parents are involved through the whole process, as well as receive support from other community members. Classes, individual programs, and groups are offered to develop healthy and positive decision-making skills.

Minnesota's version of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. While MFIP has a 60-month time limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions. Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet these requirements will result in MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced. In addition:

• A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy
• Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent
• Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistance

NOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Child Care Assistance, Emergency Assistance, Medical Assistance, and/or Food Support.

Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) Skills Training: In-home and community-based therapy to address:

• Anger management

• Assertiveness, problem-solving, and conflict resolution

• Interpersonal and friendship-building skills

• Impulse control

• Social skills

Skills training is proven to reduce the risk of psychiatric hospitalizations and the need for residential treatment. Services are usually provided twice a week, with two hours of skills-based therapy per session; however, all treatment plans are individualized and may vary. Progress is evaluated every 90 days. Adoption Support Services Providing post-adoption attachment support and educating pre-adoptive parents about the effect of past abuse and neglect on their pre-adoptive child ? ?Sexuality-specific Services ??Intended to address sexual behavior concerns, this includes individual, family, and group therapy, as well as a sexual health curriculum regarding boundaries and respect for children ages 4 -12 and teens age 13 - 19

This program is geared towards youth at risk of not finishing school. The main focuses are to assist with completing high school, move on to post-secondary, and/or transition to work. It offers a summer job for 8 weeks with a paycheck and entry-level training in a variety of occupations. They offer counselors that can help mentor young students, identify problems, and encourage personal goals.

Offers a variety of programming for youth:

• Central Annual Meeting (CAM): An annual gathering for MY workers that provides opportunities for structured discussions, socialization, networking, team building, and the development of shared narratives

• MY Connect: Groups of 5 - 8 members, usually with a mentor, form study circles to develop Islamic knowledge and give back to communities through a variety of activities

• MY Give (MYG): Organizes regular community service activities for volunteers, from helping to build low-income housing to planting trees, and cleaning up local parks

• MY Revive: Spiritual retreats that provide youth an opportunity to become closer to God through prayer, inspirational lectures, and bonding activities

• MYathalon: An annual sporting event where young athletes from around the country demonstrate athletic skills and compete

Provides advocacy services for victims of domestic violence, human/labor trafficking, and sexual assault, or victims of a general crime such as elder abuse, identity theft, robbery, stalking, or theft. Services provided include:

• Assistance at the hospital or law enforcement center

• Crisis response and intervention

• Legal advocacy and/or criminal justice system intervention, such as assistance with filing protective orders

• Occasional transportation services

• Safety planning and short-term emergency placement services

• Specialized information and referral for locating resources and obtaining vouchers for household items

• Support groups for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault

Works with low-income, unemployed, or underemployed job seekers who would like to earn a livable income and attain their financial and educational goals through achieving full time work. Adult Employment: Provides resources, training, and skill-building including coaching, career exploration, and retention counseling

Provides early intervention and preventative services for children and their families. Services are in partnership with the local school districts.

Provides state-funded food assistance to legal noncitizens ages 50 or older who do not qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called Food Stamps or Food Support) because of their citizenship status. Monthly benefits are loaded on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks and works like a debit card. Based on the idea of the "little free library", a smaller, more private way to help individuals in need. People may stop by the pantry outside to pick up what they need without having to come into the building to talk to someone. Accepts donations of and provides: Non-perishable canned and boxed food, ready to eat meals, personal care items like paper towels, toilet paper and other toiletries, water, and fresh produce in the summer. Availability of items varies.

Minor Parent Services assist the pregnant and/or parenting minor parent to create a plan for the parent and the child to ensure their safety and well-being. Services includes:

• Paternity or child support services

• Resource referrals to appropriate agencies to assist with decision making

Offers a full range of coordinated mental health services to promote the well-being and functioning of individuals and families on the Fond Du Lac reservation. Members of a different federally recognized tribe may also receive services based on program eligibility. Services provided are:

• Adult rehabilitative mental health services (ARMHS)

• Counseling for mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health. Therapeutic interventions with individuals, family, and couples counseling when appropriate.

Helps stabilize families by providing resources and services such as parenting and life skills, prevention and reunification, and housing. ?- Family Spirit Home Visiting Program: Provides an early childhood home visiting program designed specifically for American Indian communities, and is being implemented through a partnership with the Division of Indian Work.

• Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Collaborative: Provides advocacy services and intensive case monitoring to in-state Minnesota Native families who are involved in Child Protection.

• Life Skills Parenting and The Family Support Program: Partners with Hennepin County to improve outcomes for Native families by providing family counseling, parenting support, life skills training, appropriate referrals, and education in child development and cultural values.

• Section 8 Supportive Housing: Provides long-term housing for families who have experienced chronic homelessness. Tenants must demonstrate a commitment to sobriety and agree to MIWRC's zero tolerance policy for onsite substance use, gang affiliation, and/or interpersonal violence.

Answers consumer questions about energy including energy saving tips, energy efficiency, solar power, and alternative fuels. Helps low-income Minnesotans apply for heating assistance and weatherization programs.
