A chemical use assessment is required to access public funding for chemical dependency treatment. Its purpose is to determine whether an individual may have a drinking or drug problem. The assessment includes an interview with a licensed assessor to review substance use and its impact on daily life and relationships, and to determine whether treatment is needed and, if so, which type of treatment would be most beneficial.

Will pick up carcasses of dead animals, particularly deer, located along state highways (not Interstates or county roads). Callers must know the location of the animal. If a carcass is blocking a driving lane, individuals should call 9-1-1 to report the obstruction to the state patrol.

Patients who need help paying their bills or prescriptions can call to discuss special circumstances or request a payment plan:

• Allina Partners Care Program: Provides assistance to patients who do not qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare in Minnesota, or BadgerCare in Wisconsin, and whose annual incomes are at or below 275 percent of the federal poverty level

• Uninsured Discount Program: Provides a discount on medically necessary hospital charges for individuals who do not qualify for Medicaid or Allina Health Partners Care

• MedCredit Financial Services: Provides a financing option to patients who can't afford to pay high monthly payments for their medical bills over a short period of time

• Prescription Assistance Programs: Patients can speak to staff or contact an Allina Health health care provider to send a referral letter to the program

Offers a community-based retail program operated by ACTS of Olivia that sells donated clothing, furniture, household goods, and other merchandise at affordable prices. Provides vocational training and supervised employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, helping them develop job skills such as customer service, task completion, teamwork, and workplace responsibility. All proceeds support ACTS programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Assistance paying child care costs for children up to age 12 and for children with special needs up to age 14. Child care costs may be paid for families while parents work, look for work, or attend school. Family size, family income, and participation in authorized activities are considerations in determining eligibility for and amount of assistance, along with available funding.

Provides housing assistance for individuals and families with low income who include at least one adult with a serious mental illness while they wait for a Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) or another rental subsidy. Eligible use for Bridges funding includes temporary rental assistance payments and security deposits paid directly to the landlord on behalf of qualified participants.

Helps qualified households afford basic home improvements for a safe, livable, energy-efficient, and accessible home. The program provides a deferred loan of up to $37,000, up to 15-year term, which means no interest and no payments during the life of the loan. The loan is forgiven when the term is reached, provided the borrower occupies and owns the property during the entire loan term.

Provides investigative and intervention services for child abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. Services include:

• Accepts reports of abuse

• Assessment of the initial referral

• Consultation to individuals who suspect abuse

• Consultation with the family to determine the nature of the problem

• Dependency investigation

• Explanation of reporting statutes and answer questions regarding agency practices

• Ongoing support services for children and their families

• Temporary placement of children who are removed from the home

• Works with the family toward unification or reunification

Provide individual advocacy, coaching, and system navigation through statewide Help Desk to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families. Services include one-to-one assistance in accessing and receiving appropriate services in the areas of early intervention, family support, special education, county case management, health care, housing, employment, recreation, Medical Assistance, Social Security, residential services, PCA (personal care assistance), etc. ?The Arc Minnesota also offers scholarship opportunities to support individuals living with disabilities. The library system is a network of 27 member public libraries:

• Offers residents books, children's books, large print books, movies, TV series, audiobooks, and periodicals.

Public assistance program which focuses on the overall family's well-being and provides resources to move to employment quickly, whether this be through up-skilling or through help with interview and job search skills. Support service monies are utilized to address childcare, transportation, and work-related costs that could be impediments to employment. As recipients face a five-year time limit on receiving public assistance benefits, the program utilizes one-on-one group initiatives and counseling to facilitate participant success and self-sufficiency. Follow-up is provided to support job retention and reduce program recurrence.

Volunteers take grocery shopping orders on Tuesday morning and volunteers shop for and deliver orders on Wednesday mornings. Clients need to be home at delivery time. Clients need to be 60+ and have difficulty shopping for groceries. A cost-share contribution is suggested based on income. Payments for orders are made by the client directly to the store.
