The department keeps details of surveys of nursing quality for the last three years available in order to assist consumers in deciding which nursing home is the best placement. The surveys evaluate the quality of care and services provided, as well as the appropriateness of the facility's building, equipment, staffing, policies, procedures, and finances. Every nursing home in the state has been given up to five stars in each of eight quality measures, including inspections, and quality of care and a quality-of-life survey among more than one-third of all residents. Enter a ZIP code and a range of miles, then select three priorities from the eight quality measures, a list of the homes ranked by those criteria appear.
