Alzheimer's Association Presentations: Provides a variety of presentations available to the public, with differing lengths (i.e. 20, 30, 60 & 90 minutes), on a variety of subjects relating to dementia and Alzheimer's. Presentations are provided through a partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, with trained Elder Network staff providing the presentations. Presentations include "10 Warning Signs," "Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia," "Advances in Alzheimer's Treatment," "Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body: Tips from the Latest Research," "Building Foundations of Caregiving," "Supporting Independence, " "Communicating Effectively," "Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors," "Exploring Care and Support Services," and more.Dementia Friends-sessions: Provides to community members of all ages. Healthcare specific educational session is available, as well as adaptations for particular workplaces, known as Dementia Friendly in the Workplace. These are one-day sessions that last from 60-80 minutes. Educational session available to community members who have attended a Dementia Friends session, to become Dementia Champions, so that they too, can provide Dementia Friends sessions. This is a one-day session.Powerful Tools for Caregiving (PTC): Educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or a friend. Focus is on those caring for someone who is 55 years or older. Six weeks of 1.5 hour workshops. Offered both virtually, and in-person, depending upon the time of registration. Call to register for this workshop.Caregiver Training Workshop: This workshop is approximately 2 hours long. Must pre-register and the workshop is provided in-person. The training walks through a workbook that allows the participant (caregiver) to develop a plan of how to care for their care receiver if something should happen to them and they are no longer able to care for that older adult-either temporarily or definitively.Fraud and Scam Prevention Trainings: Provides presentations relating to fraud and scam prevention to the communities of service-upon request.?Programs are provided at a variety of locations, including Elder Network offices and others.
