Level IV trauma emergency room treating a range of medical conditions: - Abdominal pains - Breathing difficulties - Broken bones - Carbon monoxide exposure - Confusion/inabilty to speak - Dizziness - Head/brain injuries - High fever - Loss of consciousness - Major burns - Mental health, substance use crisis and suicidal behaviors - Partial or full paralysis - Poisoning - Seizures - Severe bleeding or deep cuts - Severe eye injuries or blindness - Severe pain/chest pain/cardiovascular/heart emergencies - Stroke/neurological emergencies Adult Mental Health Hospital Care: For adults ages 18 and older who need 24 hour hospital care. Criteria for admission to the unit are for the patient to be a danger to self or others. This treatment program is for patients who have a major mental illness and require professional assistance to learn how to cope with significant problems they are experiencing in day-to-day living. Patients receive care in the secured hospital unit while learning how to manage their illness. Professionals from a variety of health care disciplines including psychiatrists, hospitalists, registered nurses, social workers, program specialists and leisure skills facilitators assist patients with treatment and recovery. Sexual Assault/Rape Victim Nurse Examiner: When a victim comes to the emergency department, a sexual assault nurse examiner can evaluate him or her for health risks and provide treatment.
