Hired supports individuals, families and youth through comprehensive employment services to learn new skills and achieve their academic and career goals. Programs are available throughout the Twin Cities, but not all programs are offered at every site. - Adult Employment/WIOA Program: The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) serves individuals who are looking to improve their skills and advance their careers - Career Training Program: Provides counseling, training, workshops, and job search assistance. Participants build skills and gain professional qualifications to find employment that is a right fit for them - Dislocated Workers Program: Assistance with professional career guidance, training assistance, and job placement services to individuals who have lost their job through no fault of their own - Family Stability/MFIP - Minnesota Family Investment Program: Assistance for parents who receive MFIP to help them build family-sustaining careers - Youth Services: Provides coaching, support, and training to help youth and young adults complete a diploma or GED, explore careers, and gain employment in a field they are interested

Offers employment services at no cost, including job and career training, as well as employment and placement opportunities for youth. These programs are for youth who have nowhere else to turn for help to find employment, complete their education, and who need support to move forward. Services include paid internships, tuition to train for a new career, help finishing school or getting a GED, help with job hunting, and transportation assistance (such as bus fare cards). Participants in Avivo's youth and young adult employment programs can also access short-term credentialed training options for higher-wage jobs, such as: - Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA) - Forklift Operator, including Forklift Operators Certification - Culinary Arts and ServSafe certifications - Enrollment opportunities in credentialed training at Avivo Institute of Career and Technical Education

- Once ODC trainees and employees are ready for employment, individualized job seeking/job retention skills are taught - The ODC placement staff works closely with each person during the placement process so that exploring job resources, writing resumes, and job interviewing become lifelong skills - Two to four week evaluations within private companies can be used - This allows an employer to critique the participant's performance without obligation to hire and provides the individual useful appraisal information - ODC staff provide consultation and follow-up services for those moving into community employment to assure a smooth transition

Support is provided to youth in the following areas: - Education: Helps clients who have secondary education goals to find educational development opportunities, pass the GED test, and find financial aid - Employment: Works with youth in finding and maintaining employment - Entrepreneurial skills: Provides young adults with information on creating businesses through small business plan development, leadership development, money management skills, and marketing skills - Housing: Helps anyone with barriers such as criminal history or unlawful detainers to find and maintain affordable housing including shelters, supportive housing programs, and single-family dwellings. Training is provided to tenants and landlords to help prevent repeated episodes of homelessness. Tenant training is provided to help individuals overcome barriers to housing and avoid repeated episodes of homelessness.
