- Collie placement and adoption - Provides medical care, training, and food for the collies in foster homes in a family setting - Takes in collies and collie mixes from shelters, owners who need to surrender their collies, humane societies, animal impound facilities, etc.

Handles all animal complaints by enforcing all animal control ordinances for city of Minneapolis and dispersing wardens on patrol to proper area of activity. Keeps animals impounded available for five full days to be reclaimed by their owners. The Winona Area Humane Society (WAHS) provides domestic animal services including shelter of stray dogs and cats, adoption of dogs and cats, and public assistance with pet food. Each animal adopted from WAHS is spayed/neutered, vetted, and updated on vaccinations; microchipping is available upon an adopter's request.

- Adoptable animals are provided with veterinary care including spay and neuter services if the animal is old enough (usually around four months) before they are available for adoption - Foster homes for animals awaiting placement and animals that are too sick or injured to be placed - Placement of lost, unwanted, and abandoned animals - Rescues cats and dogs

Canine and feline adoption fees include: - A general physical examination and behavioral evaluation by a veterinarian - Canine heartworm test or feline leukemia test (if applicable) - Canine or feline distemper combination vaccination and bordetella (canines only). Age-appropriate canines and felines also receive a rabies vaccination whenever possible - Other treatments (flea, tick, lice, ear mites, ringworm) if needed - Some pets arrive with injured eyes, ears, limbs, and lacerations that need treatment - Spay/neuter surgery costs - Worming medication Provides a place to surrender/relinquish pets from owners who are no longer able to care for them. Surrender must take place at the shelter building by the original owner of the animal. If full the owner will be placed on a "surrender" list.

- Does not euthanize an animal except on the advice of a veterinarian in the case of critical injury, terminal illness, debilitating pain, or severe behavioral problem in which the animal is a danger to themselves, other animals or humans - Promotes and provides humane protection and shelter for abandoned or lost companion animals - Seeks adoptive homes for companion animals under protective care - Provides public education regarding societal problem of animal overpopulation - Promotes the principles of responsible companion animal care - Advocates for the spaying and neutering of all companion animals

Rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes companion animals. Admits owner-surrendered, stray and unclaimed, sick, and injured animals into the shelter. Works with local domestic abuse shelters to provide foster care for pets when their owners need to go into a shelter.

La Crescent Animal Rescue provides shelter and care for stray and homeless dogs and cats in the La Crescent area. Services include: rescue and acceptance of stray domestic cats and dogs in the city of La Crescent, placement of stray or abandoned cats and dogs into good homes, and providing a safe and clean environment for animals waiting to be adopted. Animals that are adopted out will already be spayed/neutered, have a feline leukemia blood test, and rabies and distemper shots. The program is in need of foster homes for dogs until they are adopted. Other needs include: clumping cat litter, Friskies canned cat food, bleach, HE laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, Spic and Span, and monetary donations.
