Available to county residents in need of family health services. Public Health nurses, nutritionists and like professionals are available to make home visits. Frequency of visits and length of time per visit is agreed upon by the family and nurse, depending upon needs of the family. Services: - Adjustment to new family - After home care; suggestions for exercise program, mother's health needs, parenting education, newborn care, nutritional needs and infant growth and development - Child's growth and development and child rearing questions - Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Fetal Alcohol Effect including home visits - Guidelines for parents to provide safe care and a healthy environment for their child - Health information on pregnancy and pregnancy care - Health supervision for children (immunizations and well baby check) - Identification of problems and early intervention activities in conjunction with families and schools to assist families with special needs children - Nutritional assessment and counseling/education - Prevention of child maltreatment - Prenatal health needs including nutrition, weight gain, balance of rest and exercise and substance use - Preparation of labor and delivery - Physical development screening - Special care for high-risk pregnant women - Supportive community resources
