Family Home Visiting - Rice County Public Health

Provides a variety of family home visiting services by registered nurses and family health specialists to support families, parents, caregivers, and children. - Home visits to pregnant women to instruct on healthy pregnancy behaviors and preparation for labor and delivery - Home visits to families with newborns and children; instruction on child growth, child care seat safety, development, nutrition, parenting, and child care, as well as connecting families to a wide variety of other community resources - Home visits to families experiencing stress or crisis related to parenting. Services are educational and supportive and are supervised by a Public Health Nurse; parents can self-refer ?- Home visits for children or youth with a disability or special health needs; provide health education, resources, and referrals to support families Family determines visit frequency, which can be as few as one or two visits to longer term visits up to three years. Visits can be in person or virtual to fit the family's needs.
