Auxiliary Individuals ages 18 and older participate in activities which benefit patients and their families. Opportunities include: - Helping with fundraising events throughout the year - Serving free refreshments to patients' family members - Sewing items for patient comfort and infant care - Staffing the hospital's auxiliary gift shop including welcoming guests who are visiting or staying at the hospital and assisting in gift shop operations including stocking shelves, assisting customers to find gifts and working the cash register Volunteers in Patient Care (VIPs) Individuals ages 16 and older provide direct service to patients and their families in a patient care setting. Opportunities include: - Assisting employees at special events - Canine Companions: Certified/registered dogs and handlers visit patients, family members and caregivers - Encouraging relief and healing through artistic activities, entertainment including providing gentle and relaxing music, crafts, and aromatherapy - Giving patients, family members, caregivers and visitors hand complimentary massages - Helping patients, families and guests navigate patient care buildings and services - Offering spiritual ministry to patients, family members, caregivers and more - Providing emotional and informational support to women diagnosed with breast cancer - Socializing with patients, family members and guests Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 1 year of service and 25 hours of volunteer time.

Services include: - Information and support to facilities wishing to implement therapy animal visitation - Offers support for practitioners using animal-assisted interventions as part of their practice - Provides information and support to facilities wishing to implement therapy animal visitation - Supports research into the effects and efficacy of animal-assisted interventions - Trains and credentials therapy animal teams to make animal-assisted crisis response visits in their community after crisis or disaster
