La Crescent Animal Rescue provides shelter and care for stray and homeless dogs and cats in the La Crescent area. Services include: rescue and acceptance of stray domestic cats and dogs in the city of La Crescent, placement of stray or abandoned cats and dogs into good homes, and providing a safe and clean environment for animals waiting to be adopted. Animals that are adopted out will already be spayed/neutered, have a feline leukemia blood test, and rabies and distemper shots. The program is in need of foster homes for dogs until they are adopted. Other needs include: clumping cat litter, Friskies canned cat food, bleach, HE laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, Spic and Span, and monetary donations.

Provide emergency food, litter, and pet supplies to those who are temporarily unable to provide for their pets. Also accepts donations for food, litter, and pet supplies.

Drive-up food program offers fresh produce, milk, dairy, meat, bakery, dry goods, personal hygiene items, pet food, baby diapers, and feminine hygiene products. Individuals can use the drive-up once a month and use this along with Today's Harvest.

Assistance with: - Information and advice concerning found wild animals - Rehabilitation for injured or sick wild animals - Sometimes able to provide live traps for wild animals - Will facilitate referrals to larger wildlife rehabilitators Accepts monetary donations, some items used in rehabilitation, and would take volunteers to help with transporting animals to and from their facility. Member collection sites accept donated pet food. They then deliver it to distributing organizations (food banks, homeless shelter and/or soups kitchens) which have agreed to distribute the pet food to the homeless and poor. Fundraisers are held throughout the year to raise money for operations. Monetary donations and memorial gifts help support operations cost of the shelter.
