Furniture Program and Donations - Range Transitional Housing - Iron Range

Provides furniture and may deliver items to those in need in Northern Saint Louis County. An individual or family member must be referred by another service provider. Those requesting the furniture program will only be able to access the program once a year. Accepts donated furniture items such as: - Bedding - Beds - Chairs - Couches - Cookware - Dishes - Dressers - Lamps - Modern TVs - Pillows - Small appliances - Tables Does not accept donated furniture items such as: - China hutches - Entertainment centers - King-size beds - Lift chairs - Older model TVs - Sleeper couches

Mission Outpost - Prince of Peace Lutheran Church

Provides resources for food, clothing, linen, household items, hygiene items, baby supplies, and furniture on a limited basis. Services provided: - Clothing: Offers general clothing items limited to 10 items per family member per month - Dental Clinic: Open to individuals without dental insurance. Services provided include extractions/pulling teeth and fillings for cavities. Services are prioritized by the level of pain patients are experiencing. - Diapers: Offers free diapers on an appointment basis - Food: Offers individuals food once a month in partnership with Salvation Army. Accepts food donation items such as pancake mix/syrup, spaghetti noodles/sauce, soups, bags of sugar four pounds or larger, canned fruit, canned vegetables, cereal, cooking oil, macaroni and cheese, small bags/boxes of rice, tuna, canned chicken, Helper Meals, peanut butter, jelly, beans - baked (in cans) and pinto (in bags). - Furniture Requests: Offers furniture and takes requests for furniture throughout the year - Resource Center: Assists people to apply for county services such as public assistance, energy assistance, and MNsure. Also helps individuals with resumes and searching for a job NOTE: Other donations accepted are houseware items, glassware, pots, pans, kitchen and table linens, silverware, personal hygiene items, laundry detergent, toiletries, limited pieces of small/large furniture items (sofas, love seats, tables, chairs, dressers, mattresses/box springs, metal bed frames, and tables).

Thrift stores located throughout the metro area. Accepts donations of new and used items that are clean and in good condition. NOTE: Thrift stores do not have cribs, strollers, car seats, entertainment centers, desks or anything with a mattress (including futons, sleeper sofas, etc.) available or accept donations of same. Will pick up furniture for cost if the caller lives in the pick-up area which is 30-40 miles around the metro area and includes about 100 cities. Furniture must not be damaged. To be eligible for furniture pick-up, donations must also include a minimum of three bags of new or used clothing and household items.

- Fire department with fire prevention and suppression services - Also accepts donated cars to be used for training. Each year, the department trains its 45 volunteers in how to safely extract people from vehicles following a crash. This kind of training requires vehicles for crews to practice on. Individuals interested in donating a vehicle can receive a tax credit. The department provides a receipt for tax purposes and donated vehicles are transported for free.

Donation Pickup - Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota

Provides curbside pick-up of used clothing and household items. Items should be bagged in plastic garbage bags (preferred method to keep from getting wet) or boxes no larger than a grocery tote, and placed on the curb on the day of the pick-up. All items must be clean and rack-ready. Call to arrange a pick-up. Will accept the following items: - Gently used clothing of any size or season - Bedding, curtains, towels, place mats, fabric and small area rugs - Jewelry, purses, belts, shoes, hats and scarves - Will accept kitchenware, toys and games, tools IF accompanied by clothing donations? Items Not Accepted: Microwaves, mattresses and box springs, major appliances, car seats/cribs/strollers, personal care items, food or other perishables, lawn or garden care items, flammable or combustible items, sofa beds, or furniture. Donation Services/DAV MN Residential Pickup Service - Disabled American Veterans - Department of Minnesota

Provides free residential donation pick-ups of clothing, linens, and small household goods from residents of the metro area, but will not pick-up from apartments, condos, or businesses. Will not pick up furniture. Schedule for pickup varies; most Twin Cities neighborhoods are visited every 6 to 9 weeks. DAV of Minnesota is no longer directly involved in a vehicle donation program.
