Offers a military help line exclusively for current members and veterans of the military and their families. Service members or eligible family members stationed in the United States or overseas, they can also access the help line, based on their telephone operator or using the Defense Switched Network (DSN). The help line provides:

• Assistance with immigration-related information

• Checking the status of military member's Form N-400 Application for Naturalization

• Notifying a new mailing address or duty station

• Obtaining posthumous citizenship for a deceased member of the U.S. armed forces

• Offers information about naturalization through military service under special provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)

• Provides information for immediate relatives of the United States armed forces member who died from combat-related injuries while on active duty for certain survivor immigration benefits, including citizenship

Emergency Communications?

• The American Red Cross independently verifies an emergency, enabling the service member's commander to make an educated decision regarding emergency leave and then provides transportation assistance and/or financial assistance if needed

Financial Assistance?

• The American Red Cross works in partnership with Military Aid Societies to provide financial assistance which includes funds for emergency travel, burial of a loved one, emergency food and shelter, etc. Aid Societies determine the financial assistance package that will be offered - a grant or loan. The Red Cross is the mechanism to expedite access to these financial resources.

Information and Referral Services?

• Offers confidential services to all members of the military, veterans and their families by connecting them with local, state and national resources through the network of American Red Cross chapters. Local chapters develop and maintain relationships with community partners. Military families rely on the local chapter to help them identify their needs and connect them to the most appropriate chapter and community resources. These services range from responding to emergency needs for food, clothing and shelter; referrals to counseling services (e.g. financial, legal, mental health, etc.); respite care for caregivers; and other resources.

Military and Veteran Caregiver Network?

• Peers engage to exchange experiences, empathy, education and encouragement

• Connect Online: Connect with caregivers in a secure, custom, peer-moderated online community

• Share With a Mentor: Share with caregivers in an understanding, one-on-one, peer mentor relationship

Veteran Services?

• Veterans Claims for Benefits: Assists veterans and their families in preparing, developing and obtaining evidence to support applicants' claims for veterans' benefits. Also assists claimants seeking to appeal to the Board of Veterans' Appeals (BVA).

Helps service members, veterans, survivors, and their families navigate the Veterans Administration benefits system. Members are assigned a Veteran Service Representative based on their location. A Veteran Service Representative may assist with the following:

• Access benefits to disability compensation, pensions, survivors' pension, and other benefits. Must be temporarily disabled and unable to work for at least 30 days to be eligible for disability compensation.

• Enroll in Veterans Health Administration (VHA) health care for medical, dental, emergency hospital care, nursing home benefits, and long-term care

• Find mental health resources, military sexual trauma resources, mobile crisis teams, emergency suicide care, and treatment

• Obtain military treatment and medical health records

• Obtain burial benefits for veterans and eligible family members in federal, state, or private cemeteries

• Request military discharge papers

• Resolve and find resources such as housing assistance, homelessness, chemical health, and co-occurring disorders
