The land remains the property of the land trust, but the homeowner has full use and responsibility for the land. - Provides support services to its participants including foreclosure prevention, property tax refunds, refinancing assistance, home maintenance workshops - This process allows the home to remain affordable and the home owner to earn equity - Uses the land trust model to meet the need for affordable housing, and to preserve the economic and cultural diversity of a community - When the owner sells their home, the ground lease requires them to sell it to another household of low to moderate income for the original sales price plus 25% of any appreciation in the home's value

Provides general information on child care assistance programs to help families pay for child care for children up to age 12 and for children with special needs up to age 14. Child care costs may be paid for families while parents work, look for work, or attend school.
A federal assistance program that helps pay for the medical care and nursing home care of individuals who cannot pay for their care. The medical services that may be paid for by Medical Assistance (MA) include: - Physician care - Hospital care - Prescriptions - Eyecare - Routine dental care - Mental health treatment - Chemical dependency care - Nursing home care - Reimbursement for medical transportation and other health care access services is available NOTE: Individuals may be eligible only for MA or they may also be eligible for one of the cash assistance programs, EMA, and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) services. Those who receive cash through MFIP or MSA will, with few exceptions, also receive MA. MA is different from Medicare. People with disabilities who work, even if they're over the income or asset limits of MA, may still qualify for a program called Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities (MA-EPD).
Provides assistance with paying child care costs for children up to age 12 and for children with special needs to age 14. Child care costs may be paid for families while parents work, look for work, or attend school. Family size, family income, and participation in authorized activities, as well as available funding are considerations in determining the amount of the assistance.
Provides free home visiting program that promotescreative ways to learn through play, increases parenting skills, and helpschildren prepare for school. Participating families receive free educationalbooks and toys. Trained early learning specialists work with families in theirhomes two times a week for two years.

Offers Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to eligible individuals who need help filing their taxes. Tax appointments are offered in-person and virtually throughout southwest Minnesota. Taxes are provided for state, federal, and property tax/renter's credit returns. NOTE: Some complex tax returns are not able to be completed by the VITA program.
