The Family Case Management Program provides case management for families in the White Bear Lake or North Saint Paul/Maplewood/Oakdale school districts.

Minnesota Child Care Assistance Program - CCAP - Pennington County Public Health and Human Services

Assistance with paying child care costs for children up to age 12 and for children with special needs up to age 14. Child care costs may be paid for families while parents work, look for work or attend school. Family size, family income and participation in authorized activities, as well as available funding are considerations in determining the amount of the assistance.

Emergency General Assistance - EGA - Freeborn County Human Services

Cash-grant program for adults with low incomes experiencing a household emergency. Adults can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Adults must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. Emergency general assistance provides short-term, one-time assistance for households in a financial crisis because of a threat of utility shut-off, eviction, or foreclosure.

Statewide MFIP has a 60-month limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions to the time limit. Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet work rules will result in their MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced. In addition: - Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent - A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy - Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistance NOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Legal services may include: legal advice, review court papers, assist in drafting paperwork, mediate, negotiate, litigate, and/or represent at an administrative law or district court hearing LSNM assists people with low incomes and issues critical to daily life. Family Legal Services - Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services

Represents people who meet the financial and case priority guidelines when the case has legal merit and fits within the program. Family law cases handled include: - Cases for victims of abuse where the courts or law enforcement are not following rules or laws - Cases for victims of abuse or primary caretakers that challenge racial or other illegal discrimination - Indian Child Welfare Act cases (Ramsey County only) Legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking: - Custody - Divorce - Harassment Restraining Orders (HRO's) - Orders for Protections (OFP's) - Paternity (if can't obtain court-appointed counsel) Primary Caretakers: - Child-snatching - Custody modifications and restricted parenting time when the child is in danger - Responding to divorce or custody petitions where the other parent is seeking custody May accept a custody case on behalf of a friend or family member if: The child will otherwise be placed in fostercare; The child is in danger in the parents' care; The friend or relative has been the child's primary caretaker for at least 6 months (if the child is under 3 years old) or one year (if over 3 years old)

Minnesota Supplemental Aid - MSA - Clearwater County Department of Human Services

Provides cash assistance to help adults receiving Supplemental Security Income - SSI pay for their basic needs. Adults who are blind, have a disability, or are age 65 and older but don't qualify for SSI because of their income may still be eligible for MSA if they meet income requirements. The basic monthly MSA grant is calculated using either the Maximum SSI amount (Federal Benefit Rate) for the adult or their countable income (if they do not receive SSI), and the MSA standard set by state law. Special Needs Grant MSA also may provide special payments for adults who need: - Certain home repairs - Certain household furniture and appliances - Guardian or conservator service fees - Help paying for housing costs through MSA Housing Assistance - Medically prescribed special diets - Representative payee services Adults who receive MSA are also eligible for help with medical, food, and housing costs through Medical Assistance - MA, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP, and MSA Housing Assistance programs.

The refugee resettlement program coordinates services to assist refugees in making the transition to life in the United States. These services include resettlement and placement, cash and medical assistance, and employment and social services. - Dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing by building homes, hope, and community in Itasca County - Provide housing for families who are living in substandard housing (overcrowded, unsafe, poorly insulated, etc.) who could otherwise not afford it; at a no interest and no profit rate - Prospective families must be able to work on their homes as well as be responsible for payments - Habitat For Humanity will build homes and act as a local mortgage company to a family selected to purchase the home - Offers classes on financial readiness, homeowner education, and skills to care for their new home - The no-interest, affordable mortgage is set up over a 25-30 year period and the payments are then used to help build more houses for other families in Itasca County - 2-3 families picked per year for consideration for home through the application process
