ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers. Service include:

• Parent/child classes from birth to kindergarten

• Special events and speakers for families with young children

• Home visits for families with unique circumstances

• Integrated parent/child classes for special needs preschoolers

The Smokefree Environments program provides information on how to maintain, remodel, or build a healthy house.

Provides comprehensive mental health services to patients in rural Central Minnesota. Services provided: ?- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) ?- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) ?- Medication management ?- Outpatient mental health evaluations ?- Psychiatry ?- Psychotherapy

Provide assistance, investigate, and/or intervene on behalf of vulnerable adults who are unable to act on their own behalf, manage their own affairs, or who are in immediate danger due to physical or emotional abuse, unsafe or hazardous living conditions, exploitation, neglect or abandonment. Services may include: - Accept reports of abuse - Authorization for medical treatment - Consultation to individuals who suspect abuse - Removal of the individual to safer surroundings - Services necessary to remove the conditions which have created a threat to life NOTE: Complaints, questions, or concerns involving incidents in facilities licensed by the Health Department; such as, hospitals, nursing homes, boarding care homes, supervised living facilities, assisted living and home health agencies can be referred to the MN Office of Health Facility Complaints at 651-201-4201 or toll-free at 800-369-7994.

• Cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing household emergencies. Families can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Families must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help.

• Applicant's name must be on the lease or utility bill

• Applicant(s) must be able to show that their rent and utility costs are affordable

• Emergency assistance is paid directly to the vendor

• Payments, if approved, in combination with other available resources, must be able to resolve the crisis, not just delay it

• Does not provide financial assistance for damage deposits in excess of two month's rent, utility deposits or reconnection charges, legal fees and court costs, garage rental, or moving expenses

Provides state-funded food assistance to legal noncitizens ages 50 or older who do not qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called Food Stamps or Food Support) because of their citizenship status. Monthly benefits are loaded on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks and works like a debit card. The amount of benefits received is based on income, expenses, and number of people in the household.

Provides cash assistance to help adults receiving Supplemental Security Income - SSI pay for their basic needs. Adults who are blind, have a disability, or are age 65 and older but don't qualify for SSI because of their income may still be eligible for MSA if they meet income requirements. The basic monthly MSA grant is calculated using either the Maximum SSI amount (Federal Benefit Rate) for the adult or their countable income (if they do not receive SSI), and the MSA standard set by state law. Special Needs Grant MSA also may provide special payments for adults who need:

• Certain home repairs

• Certain household furniture and appliances

• Guardian or conservator service fees

• Help paying for housing costs through MSA Housing Assistance

• Medically prescribed special diets

• Representative payee services

Adults who receive MSA are also eligible for help with medical, food, and housing costs through Medical Assistance - MA, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP, and MSA Housing Assistance programs.

Individuals fill out a questionnaire. Answers are reviewed by an Essentia provider who will make a diagnosis and create a care plan. Prescriptions may be provided. Once enrolled in the Parent Support Outreach Program, help is provided to at-risk families to avoid future incidents of child maltreatment and to enhance child and family well-being, including:

• Comprehensive assessments, early intervention, outreach, support, and therapeutic services

• Connecting families with county and community-based services

• Family circle meetings and support

• Limited financial assistance for families to meet basic needs

Helps individuals and families with low incomes (including temporary low incomes) get the food they need for nutritious and well-balanced meals. Provides extra support to help stretch a household's food budget - it is not meant to cover all the groceries a family needs. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) program provides free employment and education training and support for people getting SNAP benefits. SNAP E&T participants gain support, skills, training, or experience to reach their goals. Many organizations, including technical and community colleges, community-based organizations, county agencies, tribes, and CareerForce Centers provide SNAP E&T programs and services. Programs can include career planning, job search, training for in-demand jobs, student support, financial support, and continued support once a participant has a job.

Minor Parent Services assist the pregnant and/or parenting minor parent to create a plan for the parent and the child to ensure their safety and well-being. Services includes:

• Counseling

• Help applying for financial and medical assistance

• Housing and child care options

• Paternity or child support services

• Resource referrals to appropriate agencies to assist with decision making

Provides a wide variety of informational resources on topics such as guide dog schools, catalogs of useful products, sources of leisure reading materials, and more. Other publications include:

• ACB Media: The first internet radio station in North America operated by blind people featuring old-time radio to innovative talk shows, music by blind people, and a variety of other shows. Also broadcasts many events live, such as some of ACB's community events, state conventions, and national conventions

?- The ACB Braille Forum: Publishes a magazine 10 times per year in braille, large print, digital cartridge, via podcast, online, and via email. Free to members; all others are requested to pay $25 per format per year (except for email, podcast, and online, which are free to all).
