Provides a five-week summer work readiness program with skills training and hands-on experience opportunities for youth ages 14 - 17. Teens can explore the fields of healthcare, construction and manufacturing, early childhood education, public safety, or a general exploration of careers. Services include:

• Creating a resume and master job application

• Earn college credits

• Earn a stipend

• Explore careers

• Perform community work projects

• Provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks

• Train in money/budgeting

Food distribution for members in need. Delivery is available by request to seniors. Food items may include but are not limited to:

Drop-in center for youth who are homeless, youth in crisis or sexually exploited youth offering individual advocacy and case management, and referrals to a network of services which are designed to achieve self-sufficiency, connectedness and self-empowerment. YouthLink houses the Youth Opportunity Center, a collaboration of agencies providing services to young people in one location. Partner agencies provide services that include housing stability, health and wellness, crisis/basic needs/drop-in, education, and employment. Services include:

• Access to computers, phones, and mail

• Community resource referrals to shelter and housing

• Basic needs services: Hot meals and bag lunches, clothing closet, showers, laundry, and connections to emergency shelters. Assists with connecting youth to Hennepin County support services.

• Financial assistance to obtain vital documentation including social security card, birth certificate, and/or state ID. Application assistance is available for food stamps and Medical Assistance.

• Job search and employment assistance and education assistance and resources

• FHPAP application assistance only for eligible youth in Hennepin County seeking rent assistance. FHPAP does not provide direct assistance. Hennepin County is responsible for determining eligibility and distributing rent assistance funds.

• On-site health clinic and health care support including referrals to mental health and substance abuse services

• Street Outreach Program: Caseworkers go out into the community, locate homeless youth and inform them of services that are available to them. May provide the youth with clothing, safe sex information and resources, bus cards, etc.

Resolve discrepancies in financial cases to prevent fraud from happening in the future.

Provides cash assistance to help adults receiving Supplemental Security Income - pay for their basic needs. Adults who are blind, have a disability, or are age 65 and older but don't qualify for SSI because of their income may still be eligible for MSA if they meet income requirements. The basic monthly MSA grant is calculated using either the maximum SSI amount (Federal Benefit Rate) for the adult or their countable income (if they do not receive SSI), and the MSA standard set by state law. Special Needs Grant MSA also may provide special payments for adults who need:

• Certain home repairs

• Certain household furniture and appliances

• Guardian or conservator service fees

• Help paying for housing costs through MSA Housing Assistance

• Medically prescribed special diets

• Representative payee services

Adults who receive MSA are also eligible for help with medical, food, and housing costs though Medical Assistance - MA, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP, and MSA Housing Assistance programs.

Provides care services for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Services are provided on the same day for a range of minor illnesses and injuries including:

• Minor tears or cuts in skin

• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

• Skin conditions

• Sore or strep throat

Provides loans, loan guarantees, and grants that enable rural property owners to develop and rehabilitate properties for low-income, elderly, individuals living with a disability, families, and domestic laborers. Works directly with farm labor housing loan properties to subsidize rents for low-income tenants who cannot afford to pay their full rent. Additional services include:

• Subsidized loans for construction or rehabilitation of rental housing complexes in rural communities to serve very-low and low-income households

• Directory of Rural Development-financed complexes with location and contact information for prospective residents

• Rent subsidy vouchers to protect eligible tenants who may face hardship if they cannot find affordable housing (available at most complexes)

• Uses a variety of tools to revitalize and preserve the physical and financial health of properties currently in the USDA's rural rental portfolio

Services including: Parent Mentor Program: Helps parents set goals by teaching parenting skills and positive discipline techniques, as well as addressing anger and stress management concerns, healthy relationships, and financial roadblocks. This is a Medicaid program for beneficiaries who need help in paying for Medicare Part B premiums. For those who qualify, the Medicaid program pays full Medicare Part B premiums only. Eligibility begins the month of application and, if eligible, retroactively for up to 3 months. Note: There can be a lag time before SSA is able to stop taking the premiums out of the recipient's benefit check but the recipient will be reimbursed by SSA for all months eligible for SLMB and/or QMB or QI. The reverse is true when these programs terminate: recipients should be told to put aside premium costs from first month of termination on.
