Offers a college access program targeting low-income, first generation college adults ages 19 and over. Will assist youth 12 - 18 by request. Assists persons with academic and career counseling including:

• Academic and career assessment testing

• Academic and career counseling and referral

• Referral for dropouts wishing to complete GED

• Information about post-secondary educational programs

• Information and assistance in applying for financial aid for post secondary education and help filling out FAFSA online

• Referral to community agencies and services

ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers. ECFE works to strengthen families and engage the ability of all parents to provide an environment that supports the healthy development of their child. Services may include:

Provides cash assistance to help adults receiving Supplemental Security Income - SSI pay for their basic needs. Adults who are blind, have a disability, or are age 65 and older but don't qualify for SSI because of their income may still be eligible for MSA if they meet income requirements. The basic monthly MSA grant is calculated using either the maximum SSI amount (Federal Benefit Rate) for the adult or their countable income (if they do not receive SSI), and the MSA standard set by state law. Special Needs Grant MSA also may provide special payments for adults who need:

• Certain home repair

• Certain household furniture and appliances

• Guardian or conservator service fees

• Help paying for housing costs through MSA Housing Assistance

• Medically prescribed special diets

• Representative payee services

Adults who receive MSA are also eligible for help with medical, food, and housing costs through Medical Assistance - MA, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP, and MSA Housing Assistance programs.

The Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) is Minnesota's version of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). MFIP helps families with children meet their basic needs, while helping parents move to financial stability through work. The program provides a monthly cash payment to help supplement a family's income as they move from public assistance to employment. Participants must meet program requirements, or their benefits will be reduced. Lifetime benefits are limited to 60 months. When families first apply for cash assistance, they will start in the Diversionary Work Program (DWP). It is a four-month program that helps parents go to work right away rather than enroll in MFIP.

Program for co-occurring MI/CD treats mental and chemical health issues concurrently. This program follows national guidelines for IDDT and uses a DBT curriculum specially adapted and researched for dual disorders. Clients in this therapy program learn skills to improve mental health, decrease substance use, and to build more satisfying relationships and lives. The IDD DBT program meets three days weekly at the Edina (West Metro) and Woodbury (East Metro) locations.
