The program is a voluntary, early intervention program that focuses on a family's strengths and support systems. Once enrolled in the Parent Support Outreach Program, help is provided to at-risk families to avoid future incidents of child maltreatment and to enhance child and family well-being, including:

The assessment helps determine public programs that might pay for an individual's lomg-term services and supports or help them learn about other options if they don't qualify for publicly funded programs. It is required to determine eligibility for: Community First Services and Supports - CFSS (formerly known as Personal Care Assistance - PCA) Home and Community-Based Services Waivers based on age:

• Individuals Over 65 Years Old: Alternative Care (AC); Elderly Waiver (EW)

• Individuals Under 65 Years Old: Brain Injury Waiver (BI); Community Access for Disability Inclusion Waiver (CADI); Community Alternative Care Waiver (CAC)

Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Services (also known as Rule 185 Case Management) Family, friends, or others can attend the assessment. The assessment is in person at the individual's home or at a place of their choice and it lasts about two hours.

• Assisted pro se services consist of a workshop where a paralegal and attorney draft the petition and filing materials for the client. The workshop staff takes care of the services and paperwork.

• Full representation and assisted pro se: Clients must be screened by an attorney, usually by attending a seminar in the metro area

Responds to mental health crises or emergencies with telephone or face-to-face assessment, intervention and stabilization services at home, school or in the community. Emergencies can be a behavioral, emotional or psychiatric situation needing a timely intervention to reduce the possibility of physical harm. Staff also provide necessary safety planning and short-term therapeutic services to assist in recovery from a crisis.
