ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers. ECFE works to strengthen families and engage the ability of all parents to provide an environment that supports healthy child development. Services may include:

• Parent-child activities
• Parent discussion groups
• Play and learn activities for children
• Home visits
• Special events for the entire family
• Book and toy lending library
• Information on community resources
• Programs for non-English language learners
• Workshops on specific topics
• School readiness program for children age 3 1/2 - 4
• Early childhood screening for children ages 3 - 5

• Single parent program

Free use of medical equipment for up to six months. Medical equipment available for loan may include:

• Bathtub rails and chairs

• Crutches and canes

• Commodes

• Transfer benches

• Walkers

• Wheelchairs

Donations of medical equipment are welcome.

Direct Access allows an individual to go directly to a provider they choose to receive a comprehensive assessment and access care immediately.

• Assessment and referrals for persons in need of chemical dependency treatment services

• Provides authorization for funding of treatment for eligible persons who don't have insurance coverage and have significant income limitations

Provides a medical clinic offering compassionate care on a variety of health care services. Services include:

• Annual wellness visits such as screenings for vitals, weight, height, medical history update, depression screening, cognition screening, mobility, and prevention

• Cancer care such as addressing concerns, monitor patients' treatment, and one-on-one physical rehabilitation

• Cardiology to address and treat heart disease, heart failure, blood pressure issue, and high cholesterol

• E-Care services providing online visits for minor health concerns such as allergies, COVID-19, cold/flu, dermatology concerns, minor rashes, pink eye, shingles, tick bites, and urinary tract infections

• Family medicine such as preventative care, anxiety/depression, chronic disease management, immunizations/flu shots, prescriptions/medication management, internal medicine, pediatrics, and follow-up care

• General surgery

• Mammography

• Medical weight loss through a medically supervised approach for weight loss and weight management

• Oncology and hematology for treating cancer and blood disorders such as iron deficiency, anemia, hemophilia, sickle cell disease, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma

• Orthopedic and sports medicine

• Pharmacy offering mail service for delivery prescriptions to a patient's residence and fills and dispenses medication orders

• Vascular surgery and treatment

• Well-child visits and immunizations

Provides a 3-4 day supply of food for clients once per calendar month.

Helps families of deceased individuals who are unable to afford the cost of burial /cremation expenses.

Provides comprehensive treatment of donated dental services to eligible patients to help improve the oral health of people who are elderly or permanently medically disabled. All applications must be submitted through a DDS Coordinator. Due to lengthy waiting lists, please check the website for updated information regarding application availability. Note: Veterans can still apply for the program regardless of waiting list status.

The Child Support Division assists with:

• Adjusting court orders based on the cost-of-living index

• Collecting and processing payments

• Establishing parentage

• Establishing and enforcing court orders for child support, medical support, and child care support

• Locating parents

• Reviewing and modifying court orders for support

• Works with other states to enforce support when one parent does not live in Minnesota

Minnesota Child Support Online https://www.childsupport.dhs.state.mn.us/Welcome.request : an interactive website developed by the State of Minnesota to provide child support participants with information about their case(s). NOTE: Either parent of a child may get certain child support services. Parents who do not receive public assistance can apply for services at their county child support office for a one-time $25 service fee. Parents who receive public assistance for a child whose other parent does not live with them are automatically referred for services and are not charged a service fee.

Provides diagnostic evaluation and therapy services to children and adults with communication disorders. Services are provided by graduate and undergraduate students who are working toward a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology. Student clinicians and graduate interns are supervised by faculty members of the Department of Speech, Hearing, and Rehabilitation services (SHRS). Audiological services:

• Comprehensive audiological evaluations

Offers public transportation routes around Kandiyohi, Renville, and Meeker counties. Additional options for transport include Dial-a-Ride, Flexible Routes that allow riders to pick up at a location within 3/4 of a mile from a regular stop, same day service, and weekend service within Willmar and Litchfield. The Energy Assistance Program helps pay heat and electricity costs. Payments for energy bills are sent directly to the household's energy company or fuel provider for propane, fuel oil, or wood. Financial assistance varies depending on household income and fuel costs. The Energy Assistance Program provides additional grants for eligible households who need help with:

• Getting reconnected to heat and power after disconnections

• Paying for emergency fuel deliveries of propane, heating oil, or biofuel

• Preventing disconnection

The deadline to apply for this program was May 31, 2024. Applications for the 2024-2025 heating season will be accepted starting September 2024. Other services may include Weatherization Program and help with heating system emergencies. The program allows the agency to repair or in some cases replace heating units when they are determined to be unsafe such as a cracked heat exchanger or other issues. The Weatherization Program is a one-time grant to assist with weatherization-related repairs. The program helps reduce fuel and electric costs for low-income renters and homeowners.

Offers a comprehensive range of addiction treatment services, combining spiritual guidance with evidence-based therapies to support individuals in their recovery journey. Services offered:

• Aftercare Program: Aims to support clients in maintaining sobriety post-treatment.

• Case Management Services: Personalized case management to coordinate care and resources, facilitating clients' recovery journey.

• Family and Couples Counseling: Therapeutic services aimed at improving relationships and communication within families and couples affected by addiction.

• Group Therapy: Fosters peer support and shared experiences among individuals in recovery.

Provides loans, loan guarantees, and grants to individuals and families in order to buy, build, or repair affordable homes located in rural Minnesota. Eligibility for the loans and grants are based on income and varies according to the average median income for each area. The Single-Family Housing Program includes:

• Non-profit entities to provide new homes or repair homes

• Purchasing or building a new single-family home with no money down for homebuyers

• Refinancing the current mortgage under certain qualifying circumstances

• Repairing the current home for homeowners

Prepares and delivers free, medically tailored meals and nutrition counseling to Minnesota residents diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, cancer, MS, ALS, ESRD, CHF, and COPD. Additional meals for caregivers and dependents available as needed.

• Housing for families of children who are undergoing treatment for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses

• Families assigned their own room. Each family supplies its own food

• Outside and inside play area, living rooms, recreation rooms, and kitchens

• University hospitals provide shuttle service

• Volunteers provide rides to grocery stores, Target, and perform many other helpful duties

• Provides a craft shop

Offers a blend of individual and group therapy, nutritional guidance, and psychiatric care tailored to support adolescents and adults in their recovery from eating disorders. Outpatient treatment: Provides one on one appointments with therapists and registered dietitians. Primary care clinician and psychiatrist sessions are available to patients when needed, and group sessions may be recommended to supplement treatment. Intensive outpatient treatment: Provides intensive treatment program spanning four to six weeks, including twice weekly three-hour group sessions focused on developing coping skills and psychotherapy. Supported meals by dietitians are provided to participants on group session days. In addition to group programming, patients continue to have individual appointments with their therapist, registered dietitian, and primary care clinician.

Provides free passage of unused seats from corporate aircraft to cancer patients, as well as bone marrow and stem cell donors and recipients throughout the United States

• Non-emergency air transportation to people in need of medical transportation (nationwide)

• An adult companion may fly with the patient (children may travel with both parents)

• Employees and experienced volunteers work with patients and their families to coordinate flight needs with the regularly scheduled flight plans of participating corporations

Skilled Nursing Facility with private suites and ensuite bathrooms for 21 individuals. Facility provides:

• Activities in-house and out in the community. Individual and group activities

• Daily housekeeping

• Medication dispense by professional nurses

• Nursing assistant assists with bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating and other care needs. Including individuals who use a hoyer lift
