Medicare Savings Programs have four sub-programs: Qualified Disabled and Working Individuals (QDWI): Helps pay for Part A premiums only. Qualifying Individual (QI): Helps pay for Part B premiums only. Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB): Helps pay for Part B premiums only. Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB): Helps pay for Part A and B premiums as well as deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. Monthly income and countable resource limits apply. Countable resources include any checking or savings funds, stocks, and bonds. A home, one car, a burial plot, $1500 in burial expenses (if the amount is set aside), furniture, and other household items are not applied toward the resource limit. Participants pay for Medicare services that aren't covered, such as routine physicals and prescription drugs. Generally under these programs, premiums are put back into the monthly Social Security check, increasing participants' monthly income.

Minnesota's version of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). Statewide MFIP helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. Statewide MFIP has a 60-month limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions to the time limit. Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet work rules will result in their MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced. In addition:

• Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent

• A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy

• Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistance

NOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Provides sexual health education and services, including free or low-cost STI and HIV testing, confidential one-on-one sex education/counseling with a provider and/or health educator, and birth control. Free condoms are available at all clinics.

Prosecute crimes occurring in the county and the city of Grand Marais and advise the county board and staff. Does not advise citizens in their private affairs. Can aid citizens in becoming their own advocates by connecting them to free legal resources and supporting the Cook County law library.

• Charity Care: Offers financial help to patients who cannot pay all or part of their medical bills. 50-100% of the bill may be paid.

• Pharmacy Assistance Fund: Provides one-time (once a year) prescription assistance to patients experiencing financial hardship. Request must not exceed $500.

• Uninsured Discount: Provides a discount on medically-needed services for uninsured patients

Community-based pre-apprenticeship program. Participants receive hands-on training in construction and carpentry skills while working toward their GED or high school diploma. Youth are offered CPR certification, OSHA certification, and NCCER training. Youth work on a myriad of projects ranging from demolition and renovation to new construction. Every participant is provided with workplace skills via paid work experience. Participants get experience in reading a tape measure, using handheld and power tools, estimating project needs, painting/staining, installing cabinets, sheetrock and mudding, demolition, installing banisters and stairs, concrete work, installing flooring, window installation, roofing, framing garden beds, and picnic tables. Construction projects focus on low-income housing and nonprofit organizations.

Prosecutes all crimes in the county and provides legal advice to county departments

Patients can contact financial counselors to help understand financial support options. Financial support options include:

• Elevate Patient Financial Solutions (Elevate PFS): Help patients without medical insurance find resources to help pay for medical bills

• Income-based financial assistance: Individuals who are uninsured or underinsured and have incomes less than 250% of the Federal Poverty Guideline may be eligible for help to pay their medical bills.

• Medicaid/Medical Assistance (MA)

• No interest payment plans

• Day Camp Ages 4 - 14: Provides fun and challenging activities in both small and large group settings. Campers can check out camp and still come home each night. Eight day camp locations around the metro area: Lakeville, Lino Lakes, Long Lake, Loretto, Monticello, Mound, Rochester, and Rosemount, Minnesota and Hudson, Wisconsin

• Overnight Ages 7-17: Campers get a well-rounded experience with activities like horseback riding, swimming, ropes, kayaking, and camp fires. 3 - 26 day and single gender sessions are available. Four overnight camp locations in Eveleth and Loretto, MN and Amery and Hudson, WI

• Teen Wilderness Ages 11-18: Campers start in base camp then head out on canoeing, backpacking and rock climbing trips. Sessions range from 5 days to 1 month or more. Two locations Grand Marais and Ely, Minnesota.

• Family Camp All Ages: Families get away and come together through opportunities for growth, spiritual development and environmental awareness. YMCA Camp du Nord is located on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Camp Northern Lights on the edge of the Superior National Forest.

• Outdoor learning programs that can be tailored to group size, program lengths, and curriculum. Also provides learning opportunities delivered through special events.

Offers a nurse line available 24 hours/7 days a week for individuals who may need to speak with a nurse about medical care and where to go for care. Nurses can provide medical advice on what potential options are available, such as virtual care, primary care, urgent care options, or seek emergency care if needed at a CentraCare location.

Supports individuals with disabilities in developing the skills to access community employment. The camp partners with other organizations to host camps for youth and adults with needs around autism, heart disease, skin conditions, Down syndrome, burn survivors, HIV/AIDS, and youth experiencing homelessness. The space is also available for the public to rent.
