ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers.Works to strengthen families and engage the ability of all parents to provide an environment that supports the healthy development of their child. Services may include:- Book and toy lending library- Dad and child programs- Early childhood screening for children ages 3 - 5- Home visits- Information on community resources- Parent-child activities- Parent discussion groups- Play and learn activities for children- Special events for the entire family- Programs for non-English language learners- School readiness program for children ages 3 1/2 - 4- Single parent program- Workshops on specific topics

Analyzes identity theft trends, promotes the development and efficacy of identity fraud prevention strategies in the financial services industry, and identifies targets for referral to criminal law enforcement

• Braille and tape transcription services for textbooks, vocational, and leisure reading materials

• Dial-In News: A subscription service utilizing synthetic speech to read daily Twin Cities newspapers, accessed by touch-tone phone 24 hours a day (fee)

• Lend and repair cassette Talking Book Machines, which are used to read books and magazines provided by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped through the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped in Faribault

• Newsline: A service utilizing synthetic speech to read national newspapers and selected local newspapers throughout the country, 24 hours a day

• Radio Talking Book: A special radio network on air 24 hours a day, reading newspapers, magazines, and best-selling books to consumers throughout the state

AmeriCorps RSVP program recruits and matches volunteers who are age 55 and older with volunteer opportunities in their communities.

Members of households may "shop" once a month for a variety of food. Amount of food provided is based on how many people reside in the household. Other times during the month households may receive produce and bread.

Provides Coordinated Entry assessments and diversion strategies to unaccompanied youth (24 years and under) to rapidly resolve housing crisis. Services may include short-term, goal-oriented life coaching, direct financial assistance, and resource and system navigation focused on helping young adults self-resolve the housing crisis prior to entering shelter, and to accelerate exit from homelessness if youth does enter shelter.

• Training related to best practices in domestic violence responses to professionals within the criminal justice system

Helps people without children who can't work enough to support themselves, and whose income and resources are very low pay for basic needs. The maximum monthly benefit is:

• $128 for a person living in a licensed residential facility or receiving substance use disorder treatment services

• $350 for a person living in the community

• Emergency funds may be available if the individual cannot pay for basic needs, such as shelter or food, and their health or safety is at risk because of this

People who get GA are also eligible for help with medical and food costs through Medical Assistance - MA and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP.

Provides legal advice, advocacy and representation for tenants with issues related to tenant/landlord law including Eviction Actions or Unlawful Detainers, Lease Terminations, repair issues, problems with public housing, subsidized housing, Section 8 housing and programs such as Group Residential Housing (GRH).

The Child Support Division assists with:

• Adjusting court orders based on the cost-of-living index

• Collecting and processing payments

• Establishing parentage

• Establishing and enforcing court orders for child support, medical support, and child care support

• Locating parents

• Reviewing and modifying court orders for support

• Works with other states to enforce support when one parent does not live in Minnesota

Minnesota Child Support Online: an interactive website developed by the State of Minnesota to provide child support participants with information about their case(s). NOTE: Either parent of a child may get certain child support services. Parents who do not receive public assistance can apply for services at their county child support office for a one-time $25 service fee. Parents who receive public assistance for a child whose other parent does not live with them are automatically referred for services and are not charged a service fee.

Provides intensive, community-based mental health support for children and youth experiencing significant emotional or behavioral challenges. Offers individualized therapy, skill-building, crisis intervention, and family/foster support to improve daily functioning, stabilize symptoms, and reduce the risk of out-of-home placement. Services are delivered in the home, foster placement, or community, with a focus on collaboration, flexibility, and empowering youth to thrive in their environment.
