Minnesota's version of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families).Helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. While MFIP has a 60-month time limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions.Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet these requirements will result in MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced.In addition:- Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent- A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy- Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistanceNOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance, and/or Food Support.

Designed to make telephone communication more accessible for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, or have a speech or physical disability. A year round program that empowers between 25 - 30 BIPOC youth and young adults, by equipping young entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in business, while also preparing them for the challenges they will face as minority business owners. Focuses on business development for entrepreneurs of African Heritage. Program goal is to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem that will support diverse business owners who incorporate their cultural heritage into their businesses.

Provides a supplemental food program that helps families eat well and stay healthy by providing nutrition education, one-on-one counseling about nutrition, vouchers to buy healthy foods, support and help with breastfeeding, and referrals to health care, immunizations, and other programs.

Programs can include career planning, job search, training for in-demand jobs, student support, financial support, and continued support once a participant has a job.
