Provides a food shelf to those in need. Keeps a small amount of food available for emergencies between regular dates. The Market Food Shelf - Hastings Family Service

- Individuals/families receive a 7-day supply of food including fresh or frozen meat, dairy, produce, non-perishable items, dry goods, and personal care items. Shopping is done in the in-person choice model or via a pre-packaged non-choice selection provided through the Market drive-thru option. Food can be accessed once a month per household. Emergency bags are also available. - Market Express is an express drive-thru food pick-up on specific dates throughout the month. Food package includes 3-4 day supply including meat, dairy, produce, and dry goods (contents may vary). A private, non-profit organization serving Clearwater County. (Requests from outside of the county will not necessarily be denied) The purpose of Salvation Army is to provide moral and spiritual support, material goods, food, shelter, and transportation for those unable to provide for themselves. Every situation is reviewed individually Conditions of service: - Will maintain anonymity and confidentiality - Will require name, address and Social Security number in order to provide ANY services. - If a person doesn't have a Social Security card, a driver's license may be acceptable. Provides emergency financial assistance to veterans, service members, and their families facing temporary hardships due to military service-related incidents or medical issues. Assistance is provided on a case-by-case basis, with no repayment required - Accepts monetary donations online to support military veterans in need and their families - Donated funds are provided to assist families with quality-of-life issues - Funding from the program assists in critical areas such as utilities, auto payments, insurance, auto repair, food, and rent for situations that require a quick turnaround NOTE: Second requests will be accepted, but they must be for essential reasons, with immediate needs supported by the Chain of Command or verifying individuals with at least 45 days separating the two requests.

- Provides nutritional education and information on food preparation, food storage/safety, and wellness - Seniors participating in CSFP are given a box of highly nutritious food each month. Packages may include canned fruits, vegetables and juices; dry and UHT milk; American cheese; canned meat; peanut butter or dried beans; cereal; rice or pasta. - Seniors participating in CSFP in the in Metro Areas, as well as other areas of Minnesota are eligible for Farmer's Market Coupons in July.

May provide emergency assistance with food, clothing, and shelter, including: - Gas cards for people needing to get to work or important appointments (on a case-by-case basis). Gas cards are not available for people with Medicare or Medicaid (because they have other options for transportation) - Motel vouchers (in extreme crises and for short-term stays only when funding is available) - One-time rent payment assistance Staff may also provide information and referrals to other community resources for people.

Emergency Housing Services - Tri-Valley Opportunity Council

Provides short-term help for low-income households who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Direct financial assistance may include foreclosure payments, rent payments, rent subsidies, security deposits, first month's rent, utility payments, or other assistance to prevent eviction. Minimal assistance is also available for food, child care, transportation, and work clothing and supplies. The purpose of these programs is to stabilize families in their home or re-house families that are homeless.
