Emergency Assistance - EA - Nicollet County Health and Human Services

Emergency Assistance is a cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing a limited-time household emergency. Families can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Applicant must have spent 50% of net income over the past 60 days on basic needs. Families must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. Emergency assistance provides short-term, one-time assistance for households in a financial crisis because of an eviction, utility disconnection, or other eligible emergency. Types of assistance: - Shelter, including rent and/or damage deposits or mortgage payments - Utility costs when an otherwise eligible family unit has had a termination or is threatened with termination of municipal water and sewer services, electric, gas, or other heating fuel, including lack of wood when it is the heating source, or refuse removal services. - Employment-related expenses, including but not limited to car expenses and child care expenses if the Emergency Assistance payment would enable the family member to continue working or continue to search for employment

Short-term grant assistance for individuals in a financial crisis because of: - In situations of threat of eviction from a landlord/management or homelessness as a result of domestic abuse, rent and/or rental deposit assistance is provided. Mortgage payment assistance is not considered unless the individual is in foreclosure or experiencing difficulty from an employment crisis. - In situations of utility (electricity, fuel oil, natural gas, propane, sewer, or water) shut-off and refusal of service for fuel, deposit and payment assistance is provided

Basic Needs and Spiritual Assistance - Common Cup Ministry

Through a voucher system administered by on-call volunteers from member churches, funds are set up to help those who fall in between the cracks of other assistance. Vouchers are provided for electric service, gas money, gas service, heating fuel, rental deposit assistance, rent payment assistance, and water service assistance. Vouchers do not cover the amount of a total client's bill, the client must pay some of the bill on their own. Volunteers provide spiritual ministry as well as the ministry of meeting the person's basic needs for emergency food and shelter. Offers free laundry services once a month through Laundry of Love program

Emergency Housing Services - Lakes and Pines Community Action Council

Primary services include coordinated entry access point for individuals who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. Case management is offered to prevent future issues with homelessness. Financial assistance may be available, but it is NOT provided in all situations. Requirements vary by programs and funding. Potential assistance consists of: - Funding for housing and utility costs/deposits - Funding for transportation costs via vehicle repair or public transit - Clothing and food assistance as well as other basic needs - Housing stability case management Programs may include: - Assistance for homeless ex-offenders in Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine County, housing placement, as well as rent and deposit funds, may be available - Limited fund for short term hotel stays in tandem with case management services- ?- Long-term homelessness supportive services, also known as coordinated entry, are provided for those who qualify for short term hotel stays in Aitkin, Carlton, Isanti, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Pine, and Chisago County to help with housing search and placement for families and unaccompanied youth - Transitional housing services for homeless youth ages 16 - 22, as well as some financial assistance for rent ? ?NOTE: Funding comes from a variety of sources, including the Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program - FHPAP and others.

Intake process for programs serving individuals and families who are in search of housing programs or are in need of financial assistance for housing. Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program: Helps prevent homelessness by providing one-time assistance with a rent or mortgage payment for households until their financial situation can stabilize. Offers case management and follow-up services. Rapid Rehousing Program: Provides information, referral, advocacy, and first month's rent and/or security deposit assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness, doubled up or homeless households moving into a housing unit. Ongoing rent subsidy may be provided until the household is able to sustain their rental housing.

Emergency Assistance - EA - Nobles County Community Services

Cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing household emergencies. Families can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Families must use their own money first. Families must not have used more than 50% of their net income and liquid assets for purposes other than basic needs during the 60 days before the application. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. Funds may help with: - Rent, rental deposit, and late mortgage payment assistance. If the immediate crisis includes past due rent/mortgage, no more than two months of previous unpaid housing costs are permitted. Aid for rental deposits is limited to an amount equal to one month's rent. - Electricity, water, sewer, garbage, fuel oil, or natural gas utilities. Utility crisis aid can only be provided from the current to the past two months and does not include reconnection fees. Crisis aid for utility deposits and fuel oil crisis funds are limited. - Coordination with other local resources that may help meet the crisis need, either fully or in part is mandatory (i.e. Southwest Minnesota Opportunity Council, Heat Share, Salvation Army, etc.). Denial of eligibility from such resources or verification that funds are not available to assist with the crisis is required.

- Case management services for families who request budget management, personal counseling and other long-term professional services. - Community Center: 651-776-8169. Provides a variety of programs for all ages designed to meet physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs including group club activities, summer day camping, senior citizen programs, athletics, arts and crafts, music and drama, preschool program, teen counseling, gymnasium, after school programs, etc. - Fresh food distribution of bread, produce, baked goods, and more is available to anyone. Distribution takes place using a lottery system. - Financial assistance, when funds are available, for rent, deposit, mortgage, utility bill assistance (excluding water bills), some transportation, emergency and supplemental food, and other special needs on a case by case basis. Applications are taken starting on the 1st of each month (or the next business day). Only a limited number of applications are taken, so applications may only be available on or for a few days after the 1st. Call for rent availability; application availability may vary. - Food shelf some Asian and East African specialty food products may be available. - Food Support application assistance - Lunch served Monday - Friday - Seasonal services: Family Camp, free yearly Phone Home Project, and emergency disaster services - Vouchers for clothing (single adults only), bedding and kitchen items available through Alley Shoppe. NOTE: Client may also be eligible for Emergency Assistance and/or Emergency Medical Assistance.
