Counseling: Social work services are usually integrated into the individual schools and provide a spectrum of services like crisis intervention and referral, consulting/collaborating with other school personnel and community agencies, and individual and group interventions strategies. Naviance: A web-based college and career exploration tool available for students. Students are able to start exploring their options after high school, as early as freshman year. Naviance provides a number of resources in one place including things like career/personality inventories, career exploration, a resume builder, and college searching.
Cultural Liaisons serve as a bridge: student-to-student; student-to-school; student-to-school-to-family; and family-to-community. They are able to build long-term relationships with culturally diverse families resulting in more parent involvement and student success. The Liaisons work district-wide and can be accessed by school staff or parents at any time for academic issues. Their responsibilities include: - Help families fill out school paperwork: school registration, immunizations, free & reduced lunch, transportation, scholarships, Targeted Services, summer school, etc. - Act as a resource for staff and provide advocacy for students and families - Conduct home and school visits to explain school policy and instructional goals to families - Partner with ESL and Special Education staff as needed - Prepare translations of school communications as requested - Serve as an interpreter between parents and school personnel - Visit students and help them connect with the school and community - Work to create culturally specific clubs, character building activities, community building activities, service learning projects and cross-cultural events

After School Meal Programs
Supports students with barriers, challenges and life stressors that arise while on their educational journey at DCTC. The resources navigator meets with students to discuss challenges and then assists in finding basic needs resources, solutions and supports so that students can achieve their goals.
Cultural liaisons are a resource to school staff about working with students and families from other cultures. They create long-term relationships with the families to help guide their children's academic success and ultimately to a high school diploma. They also encourage bilingual families to participate in parent-teacher conferences and attend to provide interpretation for the conference. Liaisons may also perform outreach activities like helping families understand the American school systems and fill out school paperwork including school registration, immunizations, free & reduced lunch forms, transportation, scholarships, etc. They may also make phone calls and home visits with staff on re-occurring academic risk issues. Liaisons serve as on-staff interpreters for the Hmong, Somali, Spanish, Nepali, and Karen speaking families in our school district for Home-School communications between staff and parents, and for Early Childhood Screenings, Special Education Assessments, parent meetings, etc.

Offers informal and formal conflict resolution services to resolve students' university-based problems and concerns. An ombudsman provides confidential, impartial and informal options. An advocate is available to assist students in formal grievance or disciplinary proceedings.
The Resource Center's goal is to support students by connecting them with community networks and resources to help mitigate barriers to address the student's basic needs for student success. Services include: - Basic needs assessments and direct services to students - Referrals to resources such as shelter, food, medical, transportation, emergency financial assistance, SNAP benefit applications, and county programs
A clinical case manager is available to assist struggling students who may need referrals within campus or in the community. This licensed clinical social worker provides advocacy, crisis intervention, referrals, counseling, and consultation. Concerns addressed include mental health, social, financial, academic, and other concerns that may impact college life.
