A psychosocial rehabilitation program for veterans with a serious mental illness. Veterans work with a coach and as a group to create a recovery plan. Coaching assists individuals with moving forward in life to reach their goals in a set area. Coaching looks at current state in an effort to explore possibilities for the future. The coach acts as an encourager and supporter to identify goals and specific steps to achieve those goals. Coaching services are conducted primarily via telephone. Sessions typically last from 30 minutes to an hour. Sessions are provided once per week at the individual's designated time to begin their session. Coaches will also be available for email support between sessions. Coaching can also be done in person.

These services include free pregnancy testing and free limited obstetrical ultrasound services. - Parenting support during pregnancy such as an Earn While You Learn program. This program offers customized one-on-one classes with a mentor. Families or individuals choose the classes that fill gaps in their knowledge of pregnancy and/or parenting. With each class taken, families or individuals earn Baby Bucks to get all-new baby supplies and equipment from the agency's Boutique. - Pregnancy options consultation including abortion, parenting, or making an adoption plan. - Post-abortion healing alongside a caring mentor - Referrals to resources - Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing services

Child Protection Services: Conducts child protection investigations on all neglect and abuse complaints within the Band's jurisdiction. The program provides ongoing child welfare case management and prevention services to Band members, first-generation descendants, and American Indians within the Band's designated service area. The Indian Child Welfare program monitors the welfare of all Band children and first-generation descendants outside the Band's designated service area under the Indian Child Welfare Act. Foster Care: Licenses and trains foster care providers within the Band's designated service area. Any American Indian or community member with strong ties to the Mille Lacs Band may apply to become a licensed foster care provider. Independent Living and Life Skills program: Provides child welfare support services to Band members, first-generation descendants, and American Indians who are 14 - 21 years old and live within the designated service area of the Band. It also provides independent living assistance to Band members, first-generation descendants, and American Indians who are 16 - 21 years old and live within the Band's designated service area. Additional support services offered: ?- Benefits assistant: Assists families who need to enroll in Medicaid and Medicare ?- Crisis stabilizer: One-on-one crisis support ?- Homemaker: Assists with general and light homemaking needs ?- Independent life skills coach: One-on-one formal assistance in developing independent life skills ?- Job coach: One-on-one formal employment assistance ?- Mentor: One-on-one positive role model for youth ?- Parent assistant: One-on-one parenting assistance using the Positive Indian Parent Model ?- Transporter: Assists with transportation requests ?- Tutor: One-on-one educational assistance

The approach used is holistic and traditional, incorporating healing aspects such as ceremony and traditional practices. - Healing Generations: provides individual, family, and couples therapy for American Indian families. In addition to mental health services, case management services and therapeutic life coaching are also provided to clients. Some services include: - Short and long-term counseling for youth, adults, couples, and families - Healing circles on select topics - Mental health assessments - Community education and workshops on the importance of mental health - Family & Youth Trauma-Focused Groups: provides therapeutic groups focused on healing historical trauma and relationships in families and youth. Supports families to have healthy relationships and cope with stress in a positive way. Conducts groups for ages 7-11 years old and 12-18 years old that are facilitated by therapists. The groups focus on developing skills to manage trauma responses, healthy eating, physical exercise and study skills. - Wakanyeja Kin Wakan Pi (Our Children are Sacred): provides case management, parent education on infant safety and health, nutrition, prenatal education, home visits, connection to resources, and Mother's Circle support group for women who are pregnant or parenting children 13 months or younger. In addition to supportive services throughout and after pregnancy, limited chemical dependency supportive services are also available.

An 8-session program designed for expecting or experienced mothers eager to grow in their parenting and personal relationships. Participants work one-on-one with a Certified Life Coach, and are provided parenting education, confidence boosting, stress reduction, and healthy coping skills. Offers two monthly groups: Moms Group and Latina Moms Group. Moms Group is an opportunity to build community with other moms. Latina Mom's Group is an opportunity to build community with other Spanish-speaking moms. Topics for both groups vary based on client interests and needs.
