The Secure unit is a twelve bed detention center. Youth must be at least 10 years old and not older than 19 years of age unless they have remained under the courts' extended juvenile jurisdiction.

In-Home Support
Home and community-based services for persons living in the family home. Programs are designed for individuals who may need skills enhancement for socialization, management of finances, housekeeping, and other activities of daily living. Also provide services to children, assist families with support, advocacy, transition, and maintenance of skills.
Respite Care
Services provide short-term relief from the demands which around-the-clock care places upon families who have disabled and/or chronically ill family members at home. Services are provided in the client's home or in a licensed foster home. Trained staff assume the care of these individuals for a matter of hours or days to allow the families time for rest and recreation.
Semi-Independent Living Services

Personal Care Assistants (PCAs):
- PCAs assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, taking medications, light housekeeping, and meal preparation
- PCAs may also provide support with behavioral needs, helping individuals manage challenges in positive and supportive ways
- PCAs can support individuals in a variety of settings, including their own homes, family homes, or foster care placements
Other Services:
- Individuals who are not eligible for the Developmental Disabilities Waiver may still qualify for similar supports through the CADI or PCA programs
- In-home family support services help individuals build daily life skills such as self-care, communication, social interaction, sensory and motor development, and community living skills
- In-home family support and respite services provided by RSI (or other organizations) offer valuable assistance to caregivers and families supporting individuals with disabilities

Waivered Services:
- Available to individuals with a variety of disabilities
- CADI (Community Access for Disability Inclusion) Waiver supports individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible in their communities

Waiver Programs for Individuals Who Need a Nursing Facility Level of Care:
- AC (Alternative Care) Waiver supports older adults who do not qualify for traditional Medical Assistance due to assets but would otherwise require nursing home care. Services may include personal care assistance, independent living skills training, homemaking, respite, and in-home family support.
- EW (Elderly Waiver) supports older adults who would otherwise need to live in a nursing facility, helping them remain in their homes or community-based settings
- MR/RC (Developmental Disabilities) Waiver provides services to individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities or related conditions, supporting them in living meaningful and inclusive lives
- TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) Waiver supports individuals who have experienced a significant brain injury due to accident, stroke, illness, or other causes, helping them live as independently as possible in the setting of their choice
Personal Care Assistants (PCAs):
- PCAs assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, taking medications, light housekeeping, and meal preparation
- PCAs may also provide support with behavioral needs, helping individuals manage challenges in positive and supportive ways
- PCAs can support individuals in a variety of settings, including their own homes, family homes, or foster care placements
Other Services:
- Individuals who are not eligible for the Developmental Disabilities Waiver may still qualify for similar supports through the CADI or PCA programs
- In-home family support services help individuals build daily life skills such as self-care, communication, social interaction, sensory and motor development, and community living skills
- In-home family support and respite services provided by RSI (or other organizations) offer valuable assistance to caregivers and families supporting individuals with disabilities
- Respite services offer caregivers a temporary break, from a few hours to several days, either in the family home or in other supportive settings
- Respite and in-home family supports are often part of waivered service programs and can be personalized to fit the needs and preferences of the individual and their family

The North Homes Cottage offers a comprehensive 35 Day Evaluation to provide referral sources, children, and their families' appropriate recommendations to meet the client's needs. The Assessment Unit is staffed with trained youth counselors and Mental Health Practitioners who interact daily with clients and provide behavioral observations. The client will remain in the Assessment Unit for 35 days and participate in educational programming through independent School District 318, recreational, leisure, cultural, and spiritual activities, therapeutic groups, art therapy, medication education, eligibility for becoming a positive peer, visitation with family, etc.
- 24-hour behavior observation and documentation by trained staff, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers. A comprehensive assessment, which identifies child and family issues, and historical information is conducted. The assessment team then recommends ongoing services that will best meet the present and future needs of the child and their family.
