- Long term vision and purpose shall be the collection, preservation and dissemination of historical information and materials pertinent to the history of Aitkin County.
- To elevate interest in Aitkin County history by the dissemination of the historical information to interested persons, groups and institutions. To enhance the awareness of the museum and the the historical society with continued programs for students, the public and other organizations as deemed appropriate by the Board of Trustees and the Museum Administrator.
