Provides services for adults and adolescents ages 14 years or older who have severe seizure disorders. Services are person-centered and help each individual reach their goals. Connecting people to service providers:
  • Refer people to providers such as neurologists, disability benefits attorneys, in-home nurses, employment coaches, and medical and mental health providers
  • Walk individuals through the processes of becoming eligible for services such as Medical Assistance (MA) and disability certification
Helping people develop independent living skills:
  • Develop and practice routines for managing medications
  • Learn and use online disability navigation tools
  • Practice tasks such as grocery shopping, cooking, and meal planning
  • Search and apply for housing
  • Take steps to improve health and wellness
  • Track seizure information and learn how to communicate that to neurology providers

Provides resources for education, information, support, and advocacy such as:
  • Camp Programs: Offers day and family camps for children to connect with others, build friendships, make memories, and experience camp in a safe and inclusive environment
  • Care Coordination: One-on-one support and access to necessary resources to meet the individual and family needs. This support helps individuals navigate various resources and systems.
  • Connect Groups: Offers safe and welcoming spaces for individuals living with epilepsy to meet others who have been there, share their story, and find community. Also, offers various social events.
  • Personalized Support: Community health workers offer personalized and confidential support at no cost. Support is offered in English and Spanish and will partner with interpreters through regular check-ins by phone, video chat, or in person based on preference. Services provided include consultation to explore options, solutions, managing diagnosis, navigating systems, learning about treatment options, information about epilepsy, and resource requests.
  • Seizure Smart Trainings: Equips schools, workplaces, care facilities, and community groups with the knowledge and confidence to support those living with epilepsy. Offers wellness webinars to offer practical guidance and connection for people living with epilepsy and their families.
  • Shining Stars Group: Families with children ages 17 and under can apply to be a shining star. Shining Stars receive special invitations to events throughout the year, opportunities to raise awareness, and a chance to be part of something bigger.
