Cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing household emergencies. Families can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Families must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. The types of assistance the program may help with are for rent assistance, rent deposit, electric, gas, heating fuel, water, burial assistance, or other emergency need based on available funding.

Occupational, physical, and speech therapy services to assist people in recovering including: - Falls and balance training- General reconditioning- Pain management- Stroke rehabilitation- Swallowing and speech skills

Provides legal representation and advice to older adults. Handles cases such as:- Abusive debt collection practices- Issues with government benefits such as Medical Assistance (MA) or Social Security SSI programs- Elder Abuse- Housing issues such as eviction or reasonable accommodations of disabilities- Nursing home issues (payment, conditions, and discharge)- Utility shut-off assistance

Outpatient mental health and family counseling agency providing individual, couples, and family counseling, including services for stepparents, single-parent families, and blended families. Services include:- Child/adolescent/adult counseling?- Adoption counseling for adoptees, their parents, and siblings?- Anger management?- Bereavement/grief counseling?- Crisis intervention in-person?- Divorce counseling?- Eating disorder counseling for bulimia, anorexia, and overeating?- Family violence counseling for adult incest survivors, child abuse counseling, elder abuse, parent abuse, and spousal abuse counseling?- Juvenile delinquency diversion counseling?- Marriage counseling?- Parent counseling?- Premarital counseling?- Psychiatric disorder counseling?- Runaway counseling?- Sexual abuse counseling for adults and children?- Sexual orientation counseling?- Sexuality counseling?- Hypnotherapy?- Play therapy

Direct Access allows an individual to go directly to a provider they choose to receive a comprehensive assessment and access care immediately. The county will assess individuals who need help paying for a chemical use assessment or treatment services through the Behavioral Health Fund. Services also include:- Designated staff that provide chemical dependency assessments- Referral to local community service providers for chemical assessments or treatment services. Also, directs individuals to visit www.fasttrackermn.org for additional resources.- When legal intervention is required, staff can assist with mental health and chemical dependency commitments

Provides an age-appropriate book every month to every enrolled child ages birth to 5 years old in Rice County.

Full-service law enforcement agency:- Assists in civil matters- Crime prevention services: crime free multi-housing and prescription drug drop box (accepts unused or expired prescriptions. Do not accept any liquids, empty bottles, needles, supplements, and vitamins)- Emergency response during times of disaster- Responds to call for service- Serves summons, warrants, writs, motions, orders

Provides supportive assistance to individuals and families in an emergency situation. This program provides a safe place for women living on the Eastside of Saint Paul to recover from trauma, grief, and abuse in a support group setting. The program:- Consist of individualized or group meetings once per week for nine consecutive weeks- Focuses on spirituality, personal growth, dismantling strongholds, health, and wellness that promotes healing

Provides substance use disorders comprehensive assessments. A qualified licensed drug and alcohol counselor conducts the assessment and provides referrals to treatment if needed.

Offers parenting and pregnancy education and other services to young adults, including:- Childbirth preparation education and doula support in labor and delivery- Help to access medical and financial resources, schooling, job training, housing, child support, baby equipment- Nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyle education, mentorship programs, cooking classes- Prenatal, postnatal and parenting education- Public health nurse visits at myHealth, home, school or other site- Individual case management- Referrals to other health care services

ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers.ECFE works to strengthen families and engage the ability of all parents to provide an environment that supports the healthy development of their child.Services may include:- Book lending library- Dad and child programs- Early childhood screening for children ages 3 - 5- Information on community resources- Outdoor classroom- Parent-child activities- Parent discussion groups- Play and learn activities for children- Programs for non-English language learners- School readiness program for children age 3 1/2 - 4- Special events for the entire family- Workshops on specific topicsNOTE: Call for current class offerings and schedule of events.
