Financial counselors can help individuals understand what patients' responsibility will be, and may offer no interest payment plans. Other options may include:

• Elevate Patient Financial Solutions: Help patients without medical insurance find resources to help pay for medical bills

• Income Based Financial Assistance: Individuals who are uninsured or underinsured and have incomes less than 250% of the Federal Poverty Guideline may be eligible for help to pay their medical bill

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an intensive, comprehensive, non-residential rehabilitative mental health service that uses a team approach. Services include:

• A multidisciplinary staff with the capacity to provide most mental health services to meet the person's needs

• Intensive services to individuals living with a serious mental illness

• Services provided 24 hours/7 days a week

Assists children under the age of 18 with mental health, emotional, and/or behavioral issues; based on the unique and changing needs of the child, designed to improve the child's functioning within the family and community. Activities take place in the child's home and the community.

Providing MA to refugees NOTE: Refugees who are eligible for Medical Assistance are served through that program. Refugees receiving Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) are automatically eligible for RMA if they are not already MA eligible.

Intensive Outpatient Programs are designed to offer professional and peer support for clients and their families in a group setting. IOP groups meet three days each week. Groups last an average of 6-8 weeks and can last up to 12 weeks. Themes for Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program include identifying emotions, communication, family relationships, anger, mindfulness, healthy boundaries, coping with stress, self-esteem, gratitude, depression, anxiety, and self-care. New IOPs are available for Child IOP (ages 7-12), Adolescent IOP (ages 13-17), and Young Adult IOP (ages 18 and above).

Provides state-funded food assistance to legal noncitizens ages 50 or older who do not qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called Food Stamps or Food Support) because of their citizenship status. ?Monthly benefits are loaded on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks and works like a debit card. The card can be used to buy groceries at authorized stores, farmers markets, and online retailers. Provides support for mothers in their breastfeeding journey to reach their breastfeeding goals. Services include over-the-phone or in-person support and connecting with community resources.

Minnesota's Medicaid program for people with low income. Most people who have MA receive health care through health plans. Members who do not receive health care through a health plan receive care on a fee-for-service basis, with providers billing the state directly for services they provide. MA pays for a variety of services like doctor visits, prescriptions, and hospital stays. Some services and prescriptions may require prior approval. MA pays for medical bills going back three months from the month the application is received. NOTE: People with disabilities who work, even if they're over the income or asset limits of MA, may still qualify for a program called Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities - MA-EPD.
