Provides state-funded food assistance to legal noncitizens ages 50 or older who do not qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called Food Stamps or Food Support) because of their citizenship status. Monthly benefits are loaded on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks and works like a debit card. The card can be used to buy groceries at authorized stores, farmers markets, and online retailers. Learn more about where to shop and what can be bought. The amount of benefits received is based on income, expenses, and number of people in the household.

Program for adults who are physically and/or mentally disabled. We do include some students in their transition years. Program runs primarily September through June: with an activity in July and August. Weekly program provides an opportunity for social interaction with peers. Classes include subjects like: crafts, music, arts, theatre, cooking, games, dances, nutrition and photography.

Supplying food for persons with an emergency food need once a month.

• In-person shopping distribution: SuperShelf food shelf providing market/choice style model where clients can shop and choose their own foods from canned goods to fresh items like produce, milk, eggs, and frozen meat items

• Proxy boxes: Picking up for someone else or requesting a pre-made box are available. Requests can be made by noon on the first Monday of the Month.

NOTE: 20-pound Emergency bags of non-perishable items are available for clients needing food outside regular distribution; must call to schedule pick-up time. Accepts non-perishable food donations.

Chemical dependency treatment while in custody at Beltrami County Jail.

Provides financial assistance to young adults and families with youth who are in need of past due rent or utility payment assistance to avoid eviction and prevent homelessness NOTE: Funding available in January each year until it runs out, usually in 1-2 weeks.

Public school program for children who are not yet in kindergarten. Focuses on developing social-emotional skills, literacy and language, physical and emotional wellness, and preparing children to transition into the K-12 learning path. Full-time and part-time programs include:

• Little Agates Preschool (Minnehaha School - Two Harbors)

• Little Mariners Preschool and Childcare (William Kelly School - Silver Bay)

Before- and after-school childcare is also available.

Minnesota's Medicaid program for people with low income. Most people who have MA receive health care through health plans. Members who do not receive health care through a health plan receive care on a fee-for-service basis, with providers billing the state directly for services they provide. MA pays for a variety of services like doctor visits, prescriptions, and hospital stays. Some services and prescriptions may require prior approval. MA pays for medical bills going back three months from the month the application is received. NOTE: People with disabilities who work, even if they're over the income or asset limits of MA, may still qualify for a program called Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities - MA-EPD.

• Recreational facilities including skating rinks, tennis courts, a swimming beach, playground areas, picnic areas, a boat launch, and sliding areas

• Recreational activities including archery, baseball, football, softball, basketball, soccer, par three nine hole golf course, indoor ice center, adaptive programs, teen programs, Camp Explore day camp, and nature programs

• Educational programs including hockey clinics, a learn to skate program, swimming instruction, golf lessons and leagues, and cross-country ski lessons

• Equipment loans including canoe rack rentals at Alimagnet, Crystal Beach, Crystal Boat Launch, and Day and Lac Lavon parks

• Alimagnet Dog Park: 7-acre site allows off lease recreation. Enclosed by fencing and has double-gated entrance for safety and control. Water area, open grass area, wooded area, and mowed trail that is approximately 1/2 mile.

• Community garden plots available for rental at Crosstown 12551 Portland Avenue South, Neill Park 13501 Upton Avenue, and Wolk Park 13800 Parkwood Lane

• Skate Park located at 251 Civic Center Parkway

Providing motel vouchers for individuals and families who are homeless and in need of a place to stay. Vouchers are limited to 1 or 2 nights, depending on the individual's circumstances.

Individuals who are found to qualify for protection and relief may be eligible to receive full representation, where ILCM represents the individual in court and, if necessary, through the appeals process. The following services may be available, depending on the situation:

• Accepts calls from immigrant detainees who are in custody, providing advice and brief service to every individual

• Advice and brief service to detainees in custody

• Full representation for detained clients who qualify for asylum or other relief, and presents appeals at the Board of Immigration Appeals

The assessment helps determine public programs that might pay for an individual's long-term services and supports or help them learn about other options if they don't qualify for publicly funded programs. It is required to determine eligibility for: Community First Services and Supports - CFSS (formerly known as Personal Care Assistance - PCA) Home and Community-Based Services Waivers based on age:

• Individuals Over 65 Years Old: Alternative Care (AC); Elderly Waiver (EW)

• Individuals Under 65 Years Old: Brain Injury Waiver (BI); Community Access for Disability Inclusion Waiver (CADI); Community Alternative Care Waiver (CAC)

Intellectual and Development Disability (IDD) Services (also known as Rule 185 Case Management) Family, friends, or others can attend the assessment. The assessment is in person at the individual's home or at a place of their choice, and it lasts about two hours.

Designed for individuals who require full-time senior services, the nursing care home offers 24-hour skilled nursing care. Includes a team of caregivers who collaborate with residents, families, and physicians to coordinate individualized care plans, giving consideration to the resident's particular needs and wishes. Also caters to residents with a variety of daily services, including detailed dietary plans, pastoral services and masses, gathering areas for mealtimes and recreation, and a continual schedule of activities.

• Offers residents books, children's books, large print books, movies, TV series, audiobooks, and periodicals.

• Online services include thousands of e-books, digital audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, and links to a world of resources for children, teens, and adults.

• Provides bookmobile services for residents not near a library and mail-a-book services for homebound patrons.

The library system is a network of 27 member public libraries:
