Professionals in the fields of photography, accounting, information technology and other specialized areas can contribute their talents.Disaster ServicesHelps individuals, families, and communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters including: - Prepare: Volunteers are needed to support programming such as conducting workshops on the importance of preparedness, presenting at community events, participating in the Home Fire Campaign to educate around and install smoke alarms, and teaching youth coping skills and tools when faced with emergencies through the Pillowcase Project. Volunteers fluent in other languages (Hmong, Oromo, Somali and Spanish in particular) are needed in an effort to reach all community members. - Respond: Volunteers are needed to respond in-person, coordinate efforts behind-the-scenes (on-call disaster dispatchers for dispatching volunteer responders in a community), provide medical expertise, provide mental health expertise and provide public affairs expertise (press releases to media outlets). Most of these roles require on-call hours and that volunteers be at least ages 18 and older, commit to at least 1 year of service and attend approximately 20 hours of prerequisite training. - Recover: Volunteers are needed to assist clients with resources after a disaster has occurred

The Energy Assistance Program helps pay heat and electricity costs. Payments for energy bills are sent directly to the household's energy company or fuel provider for propane, fuel oil, or wood. Financial assistance varies depending on household income and fuel costs. The Energy Assistance Program provides additional grants for eligible households who need help with:- Getting reconnected to heat and power after disconnections- Paying for emergency fuel deliveries of propane, heating oil, or biofuel- Preventing disconnectionThe deadline to apply for this program was May 31, 2024. Applications for the 2024-2025 heating season will be accepted starting September 2024.Other services may include Weatherization Program and help with heating system emergencies. The program allows the agency to repair or in some cases replace heating units when they are determined to be unsafe such as a cracked heat exchanger or other issues. The Weatherization Program is a one-time grant to assist with weatherization-related repairs. The program helps reduce fuel and electric costs for low-income renters and homeowners.

Patients with insurance who receive medically necessary services that are not covered by their insurance may also be eligible.
