Provides early Head Start and Head Start programs. Services provided: - A comprehensive child and family development program for pregnant women and families with children from birth to age 3. Services include weekly home visits by an Early Head Start educator, year-round toddler classrooms in some locations, and access to health, nutrition, and family support services. Families also participate in bi-weekly socialization events that provide opportunities for networking and peer support. Parents are encouraged to be actively involved through volunteering and participation in the Head Start Policy Council. - Provides early learning and care to help young children reach their full potential. Teenage Parent Program - Early Head Start - Kootasca Community Action

- Provides as alternative educational setting for pregnant and parenting teens. - TAPP meets every Monday and Tuesday during the school year, at the Itasca Resource Center, for classes. - TAPP students are enrolled at the Alternative Learning Center, in Grand Rapids, on Tuesday during the school year or return to the traditional school setting at their respective area High Schools for the remainder of the week. - Children of TAPP students are enrolled in Early Head Start and attend in the purple room at the Itasca Resource Center on Monday or Tuesday throughout the Academic year. - Teen Parents may earn hours of credit towards their high school diploma by attending and actively participating in the classes.
