Provides nutrition education and special foods which promote good health for pregnant, breastfeeding, and post-partum women with infants and/or children up to age 5. WIC provides the following services:

• Assistance with any special needs
• Health assessment and screening
• Nutrition education
• Referral to other community services

Vouchers are given to participants to purchase nutritious foods such as cereal, cheese, eggs, infant formula, fruits and vegetables, milk, and peanut butter.

An employment counselor will work with the client on a training or employment plan designed to meet life and work goals.

Provides a half-day therapeutic preschool and toddler program for children ages 16 months to five years, using the HighScope and AMAZE curricula. Services include occupational, speech, music, and play therapy for children with developmental delays or who have experienced trauma. The program also offers parent education and support, including goal planning, home visits, parent-child activities, and crisis intervention.

Pays for room and board for seniors and adults with disabilities who have low incomes. Aims to reduce and prevent people from living in institutions or becoming homeless. All recipients receive assistance each month to help pay for rent and food. Some recipients also receive Housing Support supplemental funding to provide other services if they don't qualify for home and community-based waiver programs, including but not limited to:

• Arranging for medical and social services

• Arranging for meetings and appointments

• Assistance with transportation

• Medication reminders

The individual's housing provider receives payments to pay for rent, utilities, food, household supplies, and other necessities.

Provides public speaking opportunities for schools, churches, and community organizations to educate and promote awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and homelessness within the community.

Early Childhood Education Centers provide full time, nationally accredited early childhood education, and care for infants, toddlers, preschool and school-aged children from 6 weeks - 10 years old. Programs include whole-child learning to nurture self-esteem, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the child. Programming includes:

• Curriculums grounded in anti-bias and child-initiated play

• Daily parent-teacher communication

• Free one-year health and wellness family membership at YWCA

• Fresh, nutritious meals, and snacks for all children

• On-site music, yoga, mindfulness, and art classes

• Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)

• Scholarships and assistance for families who qualify

Minnesota's version of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). Statewide MFIP helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. Statewide MFIP has a 60-month limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions to the time limit. Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet work rules will result in their MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced. In addition:

• Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent.

• A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy

• Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistance

?NOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

• Diabetes Education Enhancement Program (DEEP)

Free at Last is for youth ages 16 - 21 years. The program focuses on teaching independent living skills through experiential education, teamwork, and individual counseling. Participants attend weekly group meetings, take part in community service projects, and attend outdoor challenge activities. Eligible youth may also be assisted with housing needs when they have exited care.

A mental health crisis response team that will respond to crisis situations 24 hours/7 days a week with a goal of having a staff member arrive in-person within 45 minutes of dialing. Will work with individuals on:

• Feelings of increased anxiety/panic
• Feelings of increased depression
• Feeling overwhelmed
• Life stressors that are impacting mental health
• Out of control behavior that does not need physical intervention
• Parent/child conflicts
• Suicidal thoughts or thoughts of self-harm

Crisis Response services are not appropriate when:

• Intoxication or criminal behavior has happened
• Medical treatment or transportation is required
• Physical restraints are required
• Someone attempted or is high-risk of suicide (call 911)
• Someone showing signs of aggression or violence (call 911)

Helps people develop skills and knowledge to improve their lives and communities. Offers a variety of programs for learners of all ages. Class offerings include adult basic education, babysitting classes, English as a Second Language (ESL), GED test preparation, sports and recreational activities, and more.

Offers a program for participants where a Family Self-Sufficiency Specialist will work with them individually and with their families to identify, locate, and arrange services that help them make positive changes. As a participant, individuals will create an Individual Training and Services Plan (ITSP) that includes:

• Earning money in an escrow savings account as income increases

• Employment goals and identifies training or education needs over the next five years

• Providing services such as childcare, transportation, education, budgeting, finance, job training, employment counseling, and homeownership counseling

Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) provides temporary financial assistance for refugees and eligible entrants while they are in the process of resettling in the United States. NOTE: Able-bodied RCA recipients are required to participate in an employment and training program. RCA recipients who are disabled or 65 years of age or older are required to apply for SSI.

Provides psychological testing for children, adolescents, and adults to better understand behavior, personality, learning, and cognitive functioning.
