Family Services: - Bimaadiziwin Mikana (The Path of Life): Parent mentor program designed around healing and connecting families with community and elders. While focusing on traditional cultural lifeways, resiliency, and strengths, positive Indian parenting values are incorporated into the program. - Ombi'Ayaa Anishinabe Ininiiwug (Rise Up Original Men): Provides a place for American Indian men who want to practice spiritual, cultural, and intergenerational engagement. Activities include: Cultural events, including sugar bush and ricing Men's softball and basketball recreational leagues Traditional ceremonies, including sweat lodge Weekly father and men's group and weekly drumming group - Thinica Owichakiyapi Thipi (Helping the Homeless Build): - For individuals and families experiencing homelessness and who are not currently in housing or have not found housing: Provides resources and support for those experiencing homelessness. Services may include assisting the client with housing search assistance, tenant education, budgeting assistance, life skills training/coaching, etc. - For individuals and families experiencing homelessness or on the verge of becoming homeless that are currently in housing or have found housing: If eligible Family Homelessness Prevention and Assistance Program - FHPAP may help with rent, security deposit, utilities, and utility deposit assistance. - Note: Funding comes from a variety of sources including the Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program - FHPAP as well as others. Youth Services: - Waaban Ogimaawag (Tomorrow's Leaders): Provides youth with an opportunity to become engaged in traditional American Indian service learning. Also provides tutoring to American Indian youth on diverse subject areas, including test preparation, skill building, and success strategies.

Provides homeless prevention program services such as: - Prevention Services: Temporary financial assistance and/or supportive services to help people remain in their current housing situation, relocate, or divert them from entering the homeless system. Financial assistance is provided for past due rent or for one-time housing funds to help individuals maintain or obtain housing. - Rapid-Rehousing: Assist households to quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent housing. Provides one-time rental assistance and supportive services such as case management and housing navigation.
Pre-eviction service to help divert nonpayment of rent, breach of lease and failure to vacate cases from the courtroom. Tenants have access to the services available through the Eviction Prevention Program without having to go to court, including legal advice, mediation/negotiation, and financial counseling and assistance.

Project Home: Engages homeless individuals, youth, and families to help them become stable and self-sufficient. This assistance ranges from outreach to offering permanent supportive housing. Those in the program receive assistance with: - Outreach and engagement - Location of stable housing - Mental health services - Intensive case management and coordination of community services - Benefit assistance - Health screenings and medical care - Employment and training - Parenting skills and children's services Youngdahl: A facility providing permanent housing to homeless individuals residing in Dodge, Steele, or Waseca County. The 16-unit building is designed to assist adults with a mental illness who are experiencing barriers to securing stable housing for themselves. Offers residents a variety of services, including: - Case management - Budgeting/resident council - Independent living skills Supportive Housing: Works with individuals that are long-term homeless with severe mental illness along with clients that are at risk of becoming homeless. Services include: - Assisting clients with obtaining a housing subsidy - Assisting clients in obtaining housing of their choosing - Assisting in maintaining stable housing - Connecting clients with needed support services - Outreach and engagement services

Coordinated Entry Services (CES): The Housing Advocacy Services Department participates in the Southeast Minnesota River Valleys Continuum of Care Coordinated Entry Services (CES) for housing and support services for households experiencing homelessness Prevention Assistance: When funding is available, individuals and families will be referred to the Housing Advocacy Department for follow up on Prevention Assistance. Funds will vary on a monthly basis. The Prevention Assistance fund assists families and individuals facing eviction with back-rent financial assistance and landlord-tenant negotiation assistance. Case management includes services such as transportation assistance, information/referral, and landlord tenant law training with the goal of achieving housing stability moving forward. Rapid Re-Housing (RRH): Provides short-term rent assistance and/or deposit for individuals and families with children who are homeless to get into permanent affordable housing where the participant is the leaseholder and chooses their own apartment according to their needs. RRH includes case management services such as life skills training, transportation assistance, information/referral, landlord tenant law training, and utility assistance for up to six months with the goal of obtaining and subsequently maintaining stable housing. Households will be assessed and prioritized using the Coordinated Entry System. Long-Term Assistance: The Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program provides high-barrier households experiencing homelessness with affordable rental housing and supportive services that assist participants with maintaining housing stability, improving overall wellness, engaging in the community and leading successful lives. PSH targets households that need intensive case management services due to challenges such as significant and persistent mental health issues and chemical dependency. Households will be assessed and prioritized using the Coordinated Entry System. Provides free and confidential services to those affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking/exploitation, and high-risk youth in Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, and Yellow Medicine counties. Confidential services: - Accompaniment to court - Assistance with petitioning for an Order for Protection or Harassment Restraining Order - Community education - Crisis line - Emergency transportation, and/or assistance - Information, referrals, and resources - Temporary emergency safe housing - Systems coordination - Support group - Youth Programs: Provides youth the ability to teach and learn from their peers about confidence, communication, safety, and life skills. Emergency assistance includes, but is not limited to, the following expenses: - Crime Scene cleanup - Grant funds are used to meet crime victims' emergency needs when available - Purchase and installation of necessary home security devices - Reimbursement of towing and storage fees incurred due to impoundment of a recovered stolen vehicle - Replacement of necessary property that was lost, damaged or stolen as a result of a crime - Transportation to locations related to the victim's needs as a victim, such as medical and criminal justice facilities - Victim reimbursement for reasonable travel and living expenses incurred due to a change in venue Victims of crime have also received funding through the program for items such as repairing a broken door, installing new locks, and replacing clothing or bedding taken as evidence. Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program - FHPAP may be available through pre-screening.

An emergency housing assistance program for families with children enrolled in a pre-Kindergarten - 12th grade who are experiencing the following: - Lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence - Living in overcrowded conditions in their current housing - Paying more than 50 percent of their income for rent/mortgage The program provides financial assistance for rent, mortgage, homeowner's association dues, or utilities when available to keep families from losing housing and help those experiencing homelessness find housing.

Resource Centers: During designated drop-in hours, YMCA Resource Centers are staffed by an Outreach Worker who can help youth, ages 12 - 24, with basic needs support such as food, clothes, hygiene items, household supplies, parenting items, and more. Also during drop-in hours, youth can stop in to get their coordinated entry assessment completed, help finding shelter, screened for prevention services, or access other YMCA resources/services. Four locations: Lion's Resource Center/Northeast Minneapolis, Emma's Place in Coon Rapids, Maplewood, and Saint Paul Midway Safe StaY Emergency Shelter: Moves youth off the streets into a safe space and provides supportive services. School and Street Outreach: Youth Outreach Workers provide services for youth and young adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness at schools and out in the community to meet immediate needs and connect them to community resources. Youth Resource Line: A free message line for local youth age 12 - 24 who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk. Assistance with resources and community referrals.

Provides rapid re-housing services where members of the community open their homes to host a youth or young adult in Anoka County who are experiencing homelessness. Provides case management services to help facilitate transitions, minimize barriers, and help youth and young adults set and achieve their goals.

Intake process for programs serving individuals and families who are in search of housing programs or are in need of financial assistance for housing. Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program This program helps prevent homelessness by providing one-time assistance with a rent or mortgage payment for households that need a short-term "bridge" until their financial situation is expected to stabilize. Case management and follow-up services provided. Rapid Rehousing Program This program provides information, referral, advocacy, and first month's rent and/or security deposit assistance to homeless persons. Transitional Housing Program This program provides information, referral, advocacy, and first month's rent and/or security deposit assistance to doubled up or homeless households moving into a housing unit. Ongoing rent subsidy may be provided until the household is able to sustain their rental housing.
