The Community Action Center operates the only homeless shelter in northern Rice County. - Places one individual or family at a time in an apartment where they may stay for up to 90 days - Provides food, support with housing search, and coordinating community resources - Because of increasing demand, priority is given to the most vulnerable clients The shelter is an access point for Coordinated Entry housing programs; after regular business hours, the CAC cooperates with local police and area churches in serving people in the Northfield area who need temporary shelter at a local motel.
Permanent, Supportive Housing (Maxfield Place): Permanent, supportive housing program for adults with a diagnosed disability who are considered chronically homeless. There are 10 individual apartments for single adults which include a bed, full kitchen, and bathroom. Maxfield Place is staffed 24 hous/7 days a week and employs a caseworker, who helps residents develop a long-term plan and collaborates with other service providers for referrals. Overnight emergency shelter for men and women: - Includes showers and light dinner - 172 beds for men; 60 beds for women Sixteen medical respite beds are available for individuals who no longer need hospital-based care but are too ill to recover on the streets or in a normal shelter setting.

Provides a shelter open to single individuals and families. Consists of 28 units for emergency housing with a maximum stay of 30 days. Residents will be referred to transitional units once the maximum stay has ended. Services provided include ongoing case management and one-on-one support services to help residents stabilize their lives and work on self-sufficiency.
Temporary, short-term shelter of 66 beds for men and women. Works with residents one-on-one to create an individualized plan to help them move from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Provides a variety of on-site supports from classes on topics like financial literacy and job interview skills, to weekly medical appointments and more to help residents take steps toward independence with dignity and compassion.

Provides an overnight winter shelter 7 days a week for single adults during the months of mid-December through mid-April. Guests are served hot dinners and breakfast every day and supplied with needed essentials to help them through the day.

Provides emergency shelter and short-term transitional housing to single men. Offers a safe place of hospitality so that residents can organize and prepare for the next phase in their lives. Caseworkers help residents access community social service agencies and programs to meet their basic needs.
24-hour Family Service Center providing safe, emergency shelter for 21 homeless Ramsey County families (65 beds). Residents can stay 120 days maximum, with three meals included per day, children's program, housing advocacy, and referral services.
Provides emergency shelter and support to pregnant women and mothers with minor children. St. Anne's Place is a safe environment for homeless families to stabilize and explore options for their future. Shelter provides private bedrooms, shared bathrooms, meals, snacks, and basic necessities for up to 16 families. St. Anne's Place is not a domestic violence shelter. St. Anne's Place cannot accept self-referrals; all referrals must come from Hennepin County Shelter Team. Additional programming may include: - Case management - Ensuring that children are enrolled and attending school - Referrals for behavioral health services - Skill building in parenting, education, finance, nutrition, and more - Tutoring for school-age children
Provides food, temporary shelter, case management, and community support to families in Anoka County who are experiencing homelessness. Families can stay in the program up to 90 days. During that time, they receive support and advocacy while working on three main goals - make money, save money, and find stable housing. After exiting the program, they can take advantage of ongoing supportive services to help maintain stability. Local congregations provide space in their buildings for evening and overnight accomodations. The Day Center building is used by families to bathe, launder their clothes, receive case management, and look for housing and jobs. Volunteers give their time by providing transportation, meals and sharing hospitality. At any given time there are 20 plus families on the waiting list.
Temporary homeless shelter can accommodate up to 20 individuals who can stay up to 21 consecutive days and nights, then may not return for 60 days (though they may still be present during visiting hours). Couples do not share a room. In addition to shelter, the following services are offered: - 6 pm meal served. Cup of coffee and grab-and-go breakfast provided to guests when they leave for the day - Has some used coats, winter accessories, new socks and underwear. Can direct guests to other resources to help meet their needs - Laundry facilities - Toiletries and other personal items.
Village of Hope provides safe, secure emergency housing for families 24 hours/day ~ 7 days a week. We are open 365 days a year. The environment that a family experiencing homeless comes into is very important. We work to create a calm, safe environment in which families can build a future. Families can stay with us for 90 days, as long as they are actively looking for housing. Each family has their own apartment.
