Partnering with Fairview Mesaba Clinics and the Essentia Clinic-Hibbing, a variety of pregnancy, parenting, and infant care classes available.
Prenatal tests
- Non-Stress Test - non-invasive test performed using an external monitor.
- Ultrasound - uses sonic waves which are beamed through the mother's abdomen to the baby.
- Amniocentesis - physician extracts a sample of amniotic fluid from inside the placenta sac.
Unexpected deliveries
Baby born earlier than planned or with special health needs. Baby receive care in the Nursery. If the baby does require intensive medical care after birth, arrangements can be made quickly for transfer to a facility with a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Lactation Services
A Lactation Specialist works closely with a Lactation Educator from the Public Health Department and the local La Leche League. These services are provided free of charge.

Car Seat Program
- Medica and Blue Plus have a car seat program for children up to 8 years of age. Education and installation of the car seat are offered to any resident of Becker County.
Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC)
- Child and Teen Checkups are offered to any Becker County resident under the age of 21. Checkups include: hearing and vision screening, developmental screening, physical exam, lead screening, immunizations and referrals to other health care providers as necessary.
